LFC Twitter is still excited about Salah and Salah is still excited about LFC. I can't remember the last player LFC Twitter gave this much attention to (hopefully he was big here), so there's still a lot of smiling Salah pictures if you want those. If you ask me, Gini's smile is still the best of the club. Anyways, there are rumours to get through!
Sturridge to Do Just Fine . . . In France:
Because Salah is around, it means we've got a lot of debt up front (Salah, Firmino, Mané, Coutinho, Ings, Origi, Sturridge (on occasion, Solanke, Lallana, Ojo, Woodburn, even TAA)). So, with Sturridge with what should be/is his prime years, why not move to a club that will allow him to play as much and freely as he wants in a big time like this. And in a league that is known for playing slower and less intense football than the PL. Rumours like this come up all the time, and every once in a while, we're found lacking in depth, so there's a 50/50 chance of this somewhat coming to something.
Brandt's Reason For Staying Is Worth It:
I usually get slightly bothered when a player stays at his club or the club blocks a player's wishes (Southampton, looking at you), but this one isn't given that much. Or, as much as I'd like. Brandt is staying Bayer Leverkusen, though they finished 12th and are truly struggling a bit because he wants to make sure the club get back on their feet before he goes. Meaning, he doesn't want to burn bridges and doesn't want to leave someone hanging. Which is admirable and certainly an attitude we should have here. He hasn't burned a bridge here though, as he said that he would still love to come to Liverpool, which I'm sure we'd all want. Having him now on a transfer clause 10m less that Salah would have been great, but things happen for a reason. I'm sure we'll do fine.
Gremio Want Lucas Back:
So the Sturridge and Lucas rumours are coming out at the scheduled time? Beautiful, it means the transfer season is really starting to heat up. But I'm sure they'll be very amused to find that their attacking midfielder has been changed to most recently a centre back. Might not influence attack like the may want, but he sure will stop shots better than before! There's some weight to this only because he's getting older and older every season, so why not go back to where it all started? But it's my hope that he stays here until he retires, even though I know it's not all that possible as it used to be.
Liverpool Reject Moreno Player Swap:
And here I thought player swaps don't really happen in football. At first, Napoli offered £11m, which isn't bad considering the last time you remember him playing is the Europa League final and if you properly erased that from your mind with help from wizards or witches, then maybe a crappy cameo here or there. They offered Faouzi Ghoulam, but it seems Klopp doesn't want that happening. We're said to be looking for other places to give the exact price we want, like Sevilla, Inter/AC Milan and a few others.
Naby Keïta Wants Out of Leipzig:
At first, RB Leipzig made it clear that he and basically anyone in the team would not be able to leave the club. Recently though, they've stated a price for Keïta, meaning that they've changed how they want to play this. The player in question is pushing for a move, not like Virgil van Dijk, but he's still angling.
I believe that's it, other than the daily reminder that we really do have a renewed giant chance to get van Dijk by every legend and random journalists we've had or known. That's fun, bit at one point, Southampton may file another complaint. Which would be a bummer. Good day, Reds!
