Tomorrow is make or break time! Do we finally get into the CL Group Stages? Or . . . will we drop out and go into the Europa League with Arsenal? Hopefully, it's the former, especially since we have two pretty away goals.
Now, you may be thinking, "Philippe Coutinho is finally rid of that Barca mess! Can he play now??"
No.
Nope. We're not nearly as fortunate as we probably should be.
Anyways, instead of the back injury, he's had for a while before the final preseason match, he's now sick. Not sure how long this will be because it could be a bad flu considering he dropped some weight the last time he was sick. Then again, there is still the stirring amongst people here or there that the back injury was just a way to leave for Barca and this is a way to just give that frustrated sigh for a moment.
Because seriously, those Catalan "businessmen" only gave around £80m over a stretch of five years (the first payment being £16m up front) and the £30m plus being ridiculous addons like Barcelona winning multiple CLs, Coutinho winning the Balon D'Or, winning El Pichichi (the Golden Boot in La Liga), getting the most assists and other long and winded stuff. They should have just said that they didn't want to pay for him, would've saved everyone a lot of trouble, especially Dembele, who seems to be in the most awkward limbo between two clubs ever. Dortmund isn't holding back the shade and irritation, which good for Watzke, need it at the club after getting top players stripped away every summer. So annoying.
Clyne and Lallana are still pretty much out, though Lallana's time out is much longer as Clyne is expected back in early-ish September. Other than that, it seems like everyone that is up there in the picture (the only people we can play tomorrow on our beautiful Anfield Night) is available to play.
Anyways, can we just have a round of applause for Andy Robertson's debut? It was as good as you'd want it to be and if it weren't for us playing for Crystal Palace, he probably would have had a hat-trick of assists. Very solid display.
Again, Coutinho will be smoothly integrated back for us to be bitter that he tried to leave but utterly excited that he may be back and firing for Arsenal.
Good day/night, Reds!
