. . . And here we are now! Man, I remember being against this because of letters and all that but figured I can just call him Alex from now on and get on with things. He's here now and it will be easy to judge him based on his performances from here on out, not what he's done with Arsenal. Thought to add that as some part of Twitter (FSGOut Twitter) are upset with the fact that a guy from the same team we absolutely crushed is coming here. Would you turn down Özil and/or Sanchez? Different class, but that's the argument they're giving. Let's get to it properly, though.

Alex is a proper 5'11, same size as Firmino. Ever growing midfield is a good thing, in both numbers and height. Since he's most likely going to be a rotational piece à la Wijnaldum, having tall depth is absolutely wonderful. Now when we concede our customary last minute set piece, there's Alex to come in and be that little bit of extra height to make sure conceding doesn't feel as bad when you see Coutinho defending Peter Crouch. More height to defend, more to score, who doesn't like that?

The Ox is a workhorse, to put it simply. He'll run his little heart out and continue on for a while longer after that. I think that's what made Klopp like him so much (though he did at first not . . . ?), we need players that will come in and work to make sure the press will ruin teams. As a person who experienced first hand on a few occasions, I'm sure it will be a good thing for him to take the time to come in and be a part of it because even at Arsenal, he was ready to press. Thing was, the rest of his team wasn't as happy to participate in this. Ox hasn't gotten the rousing confidence vote like Wijnaldum, but as a kid who has an Arsenal fan dad, he's the only one I can say that actually works, it just happens to be overlooked quite a bit.

Did I mention he can cross? He can! And hopefully, he'll have a lot of those to give to the front three as the season continues. He's also got that raw talent that Klopp loves to play around with when people come into the club. If Klopp worked it out well with Firmino, Wijnaldum, and others who people doubted when they came in, I believe he's also got it all worked out with Alex too. There's no way we're spending money and don't understand how to use it. We're beyond that phase now.

At £35m to £40m, in this market, it actually works out, which is crazy. He's a guy that fits into the squad, but at this time, things are a bit unclear with him. As he's going to be debuted by someone that is not LFC, we don't know what his number will be but we do know that he's coming for about 6 years. I'll have to clear that up a bit. With our players coming in this late and them rejecting big clubs for us, we're really building up a nice and strong start for the season. Now if the two expected players come in (Thomas Lemar and VVD), this may just be the best window in a very long time. Up the Reds!

Talk about the big red Ox in the comments!

(Also, I've noticed I've been doing the height in feet and inches, if you'd like me to do it in meters and centimeters as well, just ask and I'll get that fixed! Good day/night, Reds!)
