We continued walking, passing many families, couples, and groups of friends. The thought of love was pounding its way back into my mind, but once again I shook it out of my head. I need to stay focused.

"Look, we are almost there," 121 pointed out.

I wasn't paying attention to where we were going. We seemed to blend in with the Pure, so no one noticed us. 121 had perfectly symmetrical facial features that camouflaged her with the rest of them.

"So how are we going to enter the premises? Aren't there guards somewhere?" I looked around.

"The Pure don't break the rules, so they have no need for guards. We will enter at the entrance then go to the second room on the left, that's where they keep the computers. We have to be quick, so try to find as much information as you can about System EX and download it onto this hard drive." She handed me the hard drive,

"Got it?"

"Got it."

We walked casually into the center and entered the computer room, quietly shutting the door behind us. 121 started searching for files on the first computer, downloading files about the genetic database, the numbers system, and the parental rights system.

"I can't find System EX on here," she whispered.

I started searching on the computer in the middle of the room. "I found it," I said staring at a folder titled 'System EX.'

"I hear footsteps," 121 whispered, "Download it so we can get out of here!"

I downloaded the file, took the hard drive, and walked swiftly towards the door.

"Hello," someone just outside the door said.

Shaking, 121 replied, "Hello."

"What are you doing in here all alone?"

The figure outside the door couldn't see me. I hid behind a box of wires in the corner of the room, trying not to make a sound.

"Research. I was doing research on the beginning of purity. I am a student here," 121 stated, trying to hide the fear in her voice.

"Oh, wonderful! It's great to see young faces so intrigued with our Purity! What is your name?"

Hiding the number on her arm, 121 responded quite contently with "Melanie."

"Such a lovely name for such a beautiful girl! Well, I'm off to the gardens, have a great day!" the figure walked away.

"Let's get out of here, that was too close," 121 motioned towards the door.
