Chapter 4: I Got You

It's been half a month already and so far, Lauren's having fun in giving Camila a hard time at work. She wondered why she's still not given a memo by the CEO for how cruel she's been to Camila.

She wanted to be civil to the girl. Really, she tried. But Camila's attitude always gets to her nerves. She's stubborn and sarcastic asshole. A perfect representation of a brat as how Lauren put it.

They might have their small moments, but it could never patch up to their bickering. They just grew to be each other's enemies. As long as they're together, they'll never pass a chance to piss each other off.

Skimming her schedule, Lauren noted that today would be Camila's first field work. As much as she wants to give the girl a hard time, she wants her to be better in the actual field. She's still a supervisor.

Camila dragged her feet to Lauren's office. Another day with the woman who's been making her life a hell for the past two weeks. She just wants this internship to end.

"Turn that frown upside down 'cause you'll be having your first field work today." Lauren spoke to the intern who quickly shot a look to her.

Camila do not trust Lauren at all, so she thought this could be still a prank that she'll pull off to annoy her. She furrowed her eyes, studying her supervisors face for any hint.

"What?" Lauren chuckled, feeling uneasy of how Camila stared to her. "I know you're thinking that I'm just messing with you, trust me I still want to do that. But you're still my intern and I still need to give you lessons about the field. So grab your things, we're going to one of my project sites for your first field work."

Camila still stared at her and the supervisor seemed serious with her words. Camila's face instantly lit up and without thinking twice she ran crashing Lauren into a hug.

Lauren stood there, frozen. Feeling weird in her stomach and heart beating a little fast than usual. Camila eventually realized that she's been hugging Lauren, so she reluctantly broke the hug and smiled shyly. She's too happy to process everything.

The two smiled shyly to each other. "Thanks" Camila muttered and Lauren nodded. That's a first for them.

Arriving at the site, Lauren quickly instructed Camila on what to do and the intern happily obliged. This is the part of the internship that she's dying to do, really being in the site.

Lauren observed her intern as she took note and studied the blue print of the site. She also gave Lauren some suggestions and the supervisor surprisingly considered it. There's still bickering here and there, but it's been peaceful so far.

After three hours in the site, Lauren called it a day for them. She's standing on her car already when she noticed her intern is still on her hard hat.

She walked towards her and almost stifle a laugh as she notice that Camila's hard hat is stuck. "Need help?" She asked.

"No I got it." Camila turned around, feeling embarrassed of her current situation.

Lauren rolled her eyes as Camila is still figuring how to undo the belt. "Here I got you" Lauren said, moving to face Camila and started undoing the belt. Camila held her breath as Lauren is very close to her. She can't help but stare at the brunette who's very focused on undoing the hard hat.

She don't want to admit it, but she admired Lauren's face, especially her emerald eyes and perfect lips. She remembered how it tasted. And she felt weird in her stomach.

"Done" Lauren smiled to the intern who quickly diverted her gaze from the brunette.

The two stood there awkwardly, both out of something to say. Well that's also a first to them since they never pass a time for sarcasm. But at this point, no one seems to have the power to piss the other off.

"Uh, let's go?" Lauren broke the silence and the smaller girl nodded, still avoiding to look at Lauren. They drove off and quickly part ways when they arrived to the office. Lauren to her office and Camila to her sister's.
