Chapter 15: Except that it's totally opposite

The awkwardness in the office on Monday was very thick, everyone could feel as soon as they entered Lauren's office where the architect and the intern have been avoiding each other in the blue painted room. When you thought that after the heated kiss and two days of contemplation will lead to a happily ever after, nope, everything seemed the total opposite. The two are back to avoiding each other.

It was Lauren first. Camila was very ecstatic for Monday like she has no tee printed "I hate Mondays." She was inspired to wake up because she will see her favorite supervisor again, and maybe talk about what they left on that cold Friday night in the bar. Oh hopeful Camila doesn't know what will happen because the moment she stepped on the comfortable four walled room, everything was different to what she expected.

Upon entering the room, Lauren was already busy on her phone which made Camila irritated again. It's been her issue for the last few weeks. She's certain that it is not work related because what kind of field employee spends almost all of her time checking on her phone. Nope, definitely not going to assume it's Sofi's fault.

She still hasn't said anything about it to Lauren because well, why would she confront Lauren about it? It's not like they are in a relationship and Lauren has to explain anything to her. But with what happened to them in the bar should give her at least a little entitlement of explanation, right?

The next thing that Camila can't seem to understand is why Lauren is purposefully avoiding her? When she tried to have a small talk with the supervisor with the hopes of talking about what happened between them, Lauren would immediately change the topic and talk about work. Boring and irritating, Camila angrily thought.

"I really got the worst headache after our night out last Friday."

"Yeah?"

"Yup, but thanks to aspirin I survived Dinah's annoying ass all day."

"That's good. Uh, can you send me the soft copy of project eight's design?"

Yup, that's how cleverly Lauren avoids the topic, Camila sarcastically thought. It's been really like that: Camila introducing the topic excitedly with a huge grin on her face and then Lauren tries to avoid talking about it by talking about work alone. Why is that? Camila doesn't know, but she's definitely having worries right now. What if it's just her delusion saying that Lauren might like her back like how she likes her? That would totally crush her and embarrassing as hell. Imagine assuming something is really happening when it's actually not.

The last straw was whenever she feels Lauren looks at her and then when she looks back, Lauren would avert her gaze immediately and act like nothing happened. What's her problem? She's literally driving Camila insane. And Camila is so done with her. No, she won't be tolerating this charade. Lauren will have to gain her attention if she wants it.

Little did Camila know, Lauren is internally debating on how to approach her. She hasn't been sleeping well just thinking about this day. Lauren is sure as hell she will be stepping some bro codes, but what can she do? She can't see Camila with another person's arms anymore may it be a stranger or her own best friend. As how Normani tell her, it's not like she's committing some capital sin between her and Ashton's friendship because as far as they know, Camila and Ashton are not officially dating thus making it just fair for the both of them. Both have shots, and this is her, taking her shot and acting her feelings. Supposedly.
