Shit What The Actual Fuck?!

(Hello I know you're expecting an update, and I promise you I will update after the weekend. Please hear me out first. My friend got a problem.)

5 years ago, she had a promise with someone. End of senior year in high school this girl (also my friend) and my friend are like "couply-like" kind of thing. But they didn't get to ask one another to be their girlfriend. THEY CONFESSED TO EACH OTHER THAT THEY LIKE EACH OTHER AND KIND OF HAVE A MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WILL END UP TO BE TOGETHER (e.g. One gets to tell the other one if she's jealous or what the other can do or can't do). Since they have to go to different schools in college, they promised that they'll wait for each other until college ends. THEY'RE LIKE LONG DISTANCE UNOFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP (u get me?). In the first few months in college, they stayed in communicating everyday (I know bc my friend and I are roommates in college. They're worse than a real couple that I want to throw up whenever they video call or the simple texts lol but I love both of them tho). But mid year college, the communicating were getting rare (from everyday to once every 3 months to just whenever they can which is VERY RARE). After college, my friend was very excited to see HER again. She even left our dorm right after graduation because she's so excited to go back home and surprise HER (and I was so happy for my friends. They were like my OTP).

She saw her. She was very elated. She was planning to ask her to be her girlfriend.

BUT... SHE WAS THE ONE WHO GOT SURPRISED... THE GIRL ALREADY HAS A BOYFRIEND (for 5 months).

NOW THE PROBLEM IS, THE GIRL TOLD HER TO WAIT HER AND SHE'LL SORT IT OUT. SHE DON'T KNOW IF SHE'LL BREAK UP WITH HIM BUT SHE TOLD MY FRIEND THAT SHE STILL LOVES HER.

SO MY FRIEND IS KIND OF STRUGGLING WHETHER TO STAY AND WAIT (AND ENDURE THE PAIN OF KNOWING SHE CANT HAVE HER GIRL) OR STEP BACK AND LEAVE (AND MAYBE REGRET FOR NOT FIGHTING FOR IT).

I don't know what advice to give to my friend since I'M SINGLE AND I PROMOTE 'SINGLENESS', SO HERE I AM ASKING FOR SOME ADVICE FOR MY FRIEND.

PS. She's with me and she's laughing at how hilarious this is. But whatever, she needs my help so please help me help her. This one's tough in the outside but I know she's struggling in the inside.
