We were sat outside of the families home, Dean in the drivers seat, Sam in the Passenger seat and me in the back. "Why do i have to sit in the back" I say sighing loudly. Dean chuckles and Sam turns around to look at me "Because you're the newest member" Sam replies winking at me. "So I'm forced to come along with you guys, pretty much against my will, and then I can't even sit in the front?!" I say, partly annoyed and partly joking. They both shrug.

We snuck around the side of the house to see that the little girl we had seen earlier had gotten out of bed, wandered downstairs and gone to the front door. Dean pulled on one of the windows and surprisingly it opened. "guys I don't know about this" I whispered. "Too little too late AJ" Dean hissed back and climbed through the window. Sam handed me a handgun and I looked at him, my eyes pleading with him. "I'll help you" he said. I had no choice but to break and enter into this random house to kill a murderous clown.

I followed Dean to stand behind a closed door. Before we knew it, Sam had jumped out at them and Dean followed closely behind them, aiming his gun at the clown. Sam held the little girl as she screamed and Dean aimed his shotgun at it. I raised my gun too but as much as I tried, I couldn't pull the trigger. The clown quickly got up and jumped through a glass door, disappearing into thin air. Shit. The parents ran down the stairs and began screaming at us, so we bolted straight for the car and drove off. Double Shit.

We pulled over on a dark road and we all got out and went to the trunk. "Why didn't you shoot?!" Dean snapped at me. "I froze OK?" I reply. "You can't just 'freeze', you'll get someone killed" He replied. "Dean.." Sam began. "Dude, what is your problem" I reply impatiently. Dean looked taken back a bit, as I don't think he thought I would retaliate. "My problem is, I don't want to get killed because some amateur can't pull a trigger" He snapped. "Is this some kind of joke? For starters, you know I don't want to be here, and secondly... I have no idea what I'm doing, and you both know that. No one has taken the time to teach me anything, including how to shoot a gun at a person, or what looks like a person" I yell. Dean scoffs, "Fuck you" I shout as I stride to the back of the car, grabbing my bag from the seat.

"AJ where are you going" Sam said following after me, sounding slightly fed up. "Don't you start" I say waving my finger in the air. "Look, Dean's having a rough time, I know he is. Even when he won't admit it. He isn't usually this bad" Sam says, putting a hand on my shoulder. I push his hand off, causing him to frown. "As much as I like you Sam. I'm not about to be treated like that, sorry" I shrug. "I'm going to call a taxi, go to a hotel. Then I'll be gone by morning" I say. "Let us take you" He says. I shake my head. "You just saw that, it's not safe. You're coming with us" Sam says and drags me to the car. "Get in" He says. I sigh and climb in the back. "Closest hotel Dean" Sam says. Dean grunts and starts the car.

I laid in the empty motel room on the smaller than average double bed. I tried? That's all I could do, right? I fell asleep on top of the motel covers, listening to my thoughts.

There were three loud bangs on the door that awoke me the next morning. Shit... what if it was something after me? Shit shit shit. I walked slowly over to the peep hole and as I was about to reach up and look through I heard Sam's voice from the other side "AJ... open up" He sighed. His loud voice calling me to jump and slightly squeal. I opened the door "You scared me!" I said, giving him the dead eye.

"I wanted to apologise" He started. "It's not you that should be" I reply. "Dean's coming to apologise too, he feels bad. He snapped at me too this morning. Its just, timing's rough" he said, trying to find reason. I got it, I really did. They just lost their dad, but that isn't my fault. "I know" I shrug. "We ditched the car this morning, Dean was worried they might have seen the plates. Last thing we need is the cops coming round" He laughed. "Alright, I'll let Bobby know" I smile back. At that moment, Dean poked his head round my motel door. I take a deep breath and look at him. "Hey AJ" He said. "I'm sorry" He said shaking his head. "I was just frustrated we missed him! It's not your fault, we both know that" He said, genuinely. "It's alright, don't worry about it" I say nodding, I was still mad but, I know it was probably only heat of the moment. "We're going to go back to the carnival, check it out. You coming?" Sam asks. I shake my head. "I think I've had enough for now, going to ease myself into it" I nod. They nod in agreement. "Probably for the best" Dean replies. "But, when you've figured stuff out, you know where my room is" I laugh. They both chuckle and nod. "Yeah, we'll be back later and we can head back towards Ellen's" Sam finished. "Yea, goodluck" I smile, glancing at them both quickly. They nod and head off towards the road. I close my door slowly behind them and sit to and watch some cable TV.
