Burr made his way back home, tired from a long of filing out papers, doing cases, talking to clients. All in which had some sort of back story Burr now knew. He opened the door to his house putting on a warm smile, hoping it looked believable.
Theodosia was pregnant, but Burr hadn't noticed yet. "Hello, Aaron. " She smiled.
"Theodosia, hi." He gave her a soft look and gave a small wave setting a brief case down.
"Burr, I have something to tell you."
He raised a brow hearing his last name instead of his first. He straightened up. "What is it?"
"I'm pregnant, Aaron. "
His eyes widen. "Really?! Are...are you serious?!"
"Yes, I'm serious. " She looked at her belly.
He hurried over to her and put a hand on her stomach. "You're going to be a mother!" He said excitedly.
"You're a father, Aaron. "
He had a genuine smile on his face, he felt like nothing could bring him down. He put a hand on her stomach. "Do you know what it will be?"
"I don't know yet. We probably need to go to the Doctor for it."
He nodded. "I'll make you an appointment tomorrow." He pulled Theodosia into a gentle hug.
She hugged back. "Thank you, Aaron."
"Anything for you.." He kept her close. His happiness that he felt, was the happiest he's been in awhile.
*small timeskip to the next day~*
Burr had took the day off work to help schedule an appointment with the doctor, trying to get it that day. For what seemed like years of talking with a nurse who didn't seem to like her job, he got the appointment scheduled. It was about time to go at that minute. Burr got Theodosia into the car and got in him and began the drive. He was slightly nervous now, gripping the steering wheel, his eyes staring at the road. Theodosia had pains, but she didn't care. Burr opened his mouth waiting a few seconds. "Theodosia, I have to confess something to you.." He said, his voice shaking slightly.
"What is it, Aaron?" She said.
"I'm scared...What if you die after birthing this child? I know a few people that have...I couldn't stand to lose you." He said his voice trailing off his eyes filling with tears, blacking out for only a moment. His attention, now fully on the road in front of him.
"I promise I won't, for you, Aaron." She tears up.
He feels a tear fall down his cheek. "I don't want to lose you.." He whispers.
"Aaron, please don't cry..." She begins crying.
"I can't help it.." He glances at her for only a second then back at the road. "If I lost you, I'd cry everyday..." He said trying to prevent another tear from falling, but failing.
"Aaron, isn't that the doctors office?!"
He noticed that he passed it and silently cursed himself and turned around before driving back then pulling into the parking lot.
Theodosia got out when the car stopped and fell. "Gah! Pains!"
Burr's eyes widened and he got out quickly rushing to her side. "Theodosia!" He helped her to her feet.
"It's just pains, let's go."
He nodded and helped her to the door. He checked her in and set her down in a chair, not sitting himself.
"Aaron, sit down."
"Not while you're in pain." He said beginning to pace.
"I'm sitting, I'm fine." He looked at her stopping where he was. He shook his head and began pacing again. She sees the doctor and smiles.
"Mrs. Theodosia you can come on back." The doctor says with a warm smile. Aaron saw the doctor and narrowed his eyes rushing to Theodosia's side.
"Ok, sir." Burr helped Theodosia back. The doctor got her ready, then began the ultrasound. "Alright Mrs. Theodosia...it's.."
"It's a...?"
"A girl!" Burr exclaimed excitedly.
"Yes it is." The doctor nodded chuckling.
Theodosia began crying. "We're gonna have a daughter! "
Burr looks at Theodosia. "I want her to have your name.." His expression was a both a mixture of excitement and worry.
"Yes. Theodosia Burr will be her name."
Burr blushed slightly grinning. "I bet she'll be as pretty as you.."
"She will."
"I'm sure she'll be smart. I hope she'll make all the right choices."
"I'll make sure that she will."
He smiled softly. "Oh good, and I'll protect her from boys."
"Aaron, she'll have to get a boyfriend SOMETIME."
"Not for a while.." Aaron said with a grin.
"What about Hamilton's child?"
"No. No, she will never be dating Alexander's son." His grin immediately disappeared.
"Aaron, just because you hate Alexander doesn't mean anything."
"She will never talk to Alexander's son. I'll make sure of it." He glances at the doctor, making him not say anything.
"Burr."
"Theodosia." He said his gaze going back to her. She glanced at the doctor, nodding for him to speak.
"Well, Mrs. and Mr. Burr, the baby should be due about April 8th."
"Ok." Aaron looked at Theodosia. He felt proud of his wife. He felt proud of himself. Maybe this is the way he could protect his legacy.
