Cooties (Young!Madison x Young! Jefferson)

It was about the third grade. The boys were begging to wonder about the girls. Likewise with the girls about the boys. All except James Madison. He didn't want girls near him. He was a firm believer in cooties.

But James, had his best friend, Thomas Jefferson. It was recess now. James was sitting alone on the swings. Thomas himself was walking towards the swings, where Madison was sitting.

James heard someone coming and quickly looked up before smiling a little. "I saved you a swing Thomas.." He pointed to the swing next to him.

Thomas smiled. "Thanks, Jemmy." He covered his mouth and blushed.

James only laughed before swinging slightly. "Of course Tommie J." Thomas laughed before sitting down and seeing Charles Lee.

Charles was making his was towards the two looking at Madison. "Oh look, James actually found a friend." He sneered at him. Thomas looked at him, very angrily.

James flinched and began to tear up. "I-i've had friends!" He says trying to defend himself.

Charles just laughs. "Watch out! He might have cooties James!" He said teasing Madison.

Thomas glared at him and his hands balled into fists."STOP!" Thomas screamed at Lee.

Charles looked at Thomas than looked back at Madison smirking. "Right don't wanna make the baby cry.."

Madison is fighting the urge not to cry. "I-I'm not a baby!" Thomas throws a punch at Lee.

James closes his eyes and an aid comes up between the two boys. "Mr. Jefferson! Mr. Lee!"

Thomas stops and goes and hugs Madison. "Jemmy. " The aid goes on to scold Lee for starting another fight pulling him away.

James sniffles and looks at Thomas. "H-He's so mean Tommie J.."

"I know, Jemmy. He is mean." Thomas said, glaring at Lee. James clings to Thomas seeing two girls walk up. He recognizes them from his class. Sally and Dolly. Thomas looks at Sally and smiles. "Hi Sally!"

"Hi Thomas!" Sally waves back. "That was a nice thing to do. Standing up for James." James sniffed looking at them.

"Yeah, I'm his best friend!" Thomas said.

"That was nice of you." Sally smiles softly. Dolly smiles at Madison. James looked at Dolly before sniffing again and waving shyly. Thomas grinned at Dolly. James still kept Thomas close blushing lightly.

"Say Thomas, we should hang out more. All four of us." Sally beamed slightly.

" Ok.." Thomas blushed. James mumbled under his breath before looking up seeing a butterfly.

"Oh! I bet I can catch it before you Thomas!" Sally giggles before running after the butterfly.

"Hey! That's not fair!" He runs after the butterfly. James realized that he was alone with Dolly and he hugged himself glancing at her.

Dolly goes to hug him. "I'm sorry about Lee."

James sees her getting closer. He closes his eyes tightly. "I-it's okay..." She touches his arm. He screams quiet loudly, it's high pitched as well. Thomas stops what he's doing and walks to James and hugs him. James now breaks down into tears hugging Thomas tightly back.

"Did Dolly touch you?" Thomas asks.

James nods quickly. "S-She got her cooties on me!"

"Jemmy, it's going to be okay. Dolly won't touch you AGAIN." Thomas said holding James.

James sniffles and nods. He keeps James close and the bell goes off.

Recess is over.
