Draco's POV:
I woke up in the infirmary. Pomfrey was pouring some disgusting gloop into a glass besides my bed. She looked over at me and handed me the glass. "Mr. Malfoy, you took a fine blow to the head. You have glass shards in your scalp that took me all night to pick out, not to mention you overdosed on love potion. Now drink this." I crinkled up my nose and looked at the disgusting drink that was bubbling up. "Umm, I don't-" Before I could finish talking, Pomfrey had shoved the glop down my throat. I chocked as I felt the slimy brown concoction slide down my throat.
"There" she said with a satisfied look on her face, "You can leave now." Standing up slowly, I made my way down to the Slytherin common room. When I got there, I saw Alison sitting in the green love seat. My heart fluttered, and I felt butterfly's in my stomach. I thought that the love potion had worn off.
Her hair was falling down in waves. It was brown at the top, and dyed blonde at the bottom. Her eyes were a sparkling green with flecks of brown and gold. She was smiling, with a radience that lit up a whole room. She turned her head twoards me, and her smile dissapeared. A look of fright crossed her eyes and she stood up to leave. Before I could stop myself, I ran across the room and grabbed her arm.
She looked scared. "Draco, let me go." The way she said it made me want to dissapear right then and there. I leaned in close. "Look, can we talk?" She tried to wriggle free, but I was stronger. "Please." i said. She looked up into my eyes and stopped struggling. Finally she gave in. "Fine" she said, "but quickly." I looked around and ran into the coat closet. When we were safley inside, and I was sure no one had seen us, I let go.
"What do you want?" she asked. I sighed, and ran my hands through my hair. "Look" I said, "I'm..." She looked at me, listening. The words wouldn't come out of my mouth. Damnit Draco my concience said, just apologize for once in your life. "I'm sorry." Phewph, that took long enough. She looked at me incredulously. "What did you just say?" I turned my head sharply, and she shrank back. "Damnit Alison, don't make me say it again." She looked frightened, which was NOT the point of this apalogy. I stepped closer to her. There was limited space in this closet already, so we were practically touching.
"I'm sorry." Did I just say it again. Her eyes softened. "Thanks." We stood there in silence, me just taking in her features. She turned to go. "Thanks" she said again, this time more softly. She opened the door, but not before reaching out and giving my hand a soft squeeze. My heart dropped into my stomach. What was happening to me?
Alison's POV:
Did I just squeeze Draco Malfoy's hand? After being in a closet with him? Alone? After last night? And did he just call me Alison?
These thoughts were flowing through me head, coming in and out at top speed. I needed someone to talk to. And not Harry. This was a girl problem. I headed up the stairs to the Hufflepuff common room. I stepped into the common room. It was decorated in all yellow. There were badgers on every single surface in the place. On the bookshelves, tables, chairs, even carved into the frickin doorway! After asking a fifth year for directions to Hermionie's room, I headed up and opened the door. Hermionie was sitting at her desk. "Jenna, I'm trying to study. I know we're roommates, but can you please leave?" I smiled, feeling a sense of comfort in Hermionie's words. She used to say the exact same thing to me when we were roommates.
i stepped inside the room. "I would leave, but I'm not Jenna." Her head snapped around and a huge smile came in across her face. "Ali!" she said. We hugged, and sat on her bed. "So catch me up! How's the whole Ron situation going?" She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Not good. I did something bad." I smiled. Hermionie's bad was equivilant to not returning a book on time to the library. She shook her head when she sw my smile. "No Ali, I mean it." Oh, it was THIS kind of bad.
Then she told me about how she kissed Draco. My stomach dropped so low, I think I just lost a few vital organs. "I know, I know, it's bad. And I don't even like him!" I sat there shocked. She and Draco had made out? While Hermionie was in a bra? She snapped her fingers in my face. "Earth to Ali." I looked up. "Are you sure it didn't mean anything?" She nodded her head fiercly. "I promise. It was one of those 'In-the-moment' kisses. Besides, I really like Ron. I've just been avoiding him because I feel guilty."
That took a little weight off my chest. But then something occured to me. "Why was Draco asking for the timeturner?" Hermionie shrugged. "Beat's me. He didn't say." Hmm. This sound suspicious. "Ok. I would go to Ron and just pretend it nevered happened." She sighed with relife. "You're right. Thanks Ali, you're the best." She hugged me, and I got up to leave. When I was back in the moldy corner of my room, I realized I never told her about Draco and I.
This was all to confusing. I liked Draco, and I liked Harry, and Hermionie kissed Draco, but doesn't like him because she like Ron (obviously.) And why was Draco asking for a time turner? I needed to figure this out.
When I went up to dinner, I didn't speak, just wallowed in my own thoughts. I was usually super excited about fish and chips, but not today. I barely ate. Deciding that I coudn't take another bite, I went up to the owl tower to get some fresh air. And guess who was there?
Draco turned around. He had a letter in one hand and a owl in another."Alison!" he said. There was a hint of a faint smile on his lips. "Draco, hi" I said. He walked over to me. "Grabbing some fresh air?" I nodded. "Yeah, me too. I'm just sending a letter." He then proceeded to carefully tie the note around the barn owl's leg. The owl took off, gliding gracefully in the wind. I shivered. Even though it was the beginning of October, it was cold. I took a deep breath of fresh air and sat down on the window sill.
He came twoards me and sat at the other end. "Look" he said, "I really am sorry about the whole T thing. Everyone in that club is stupid, i'm stupid." I laughed. He smiled. "Friends?" he stuck out his hand. At first, I wasn't sure if he was tricking me. But seeing he was actually sirious, I shook his hand. He sighed with relife. "Good, you actually shook!" I laughed. "Yeah, I did."
We talked for a long time, until the sun was long gone and the stars were shining in the sky. There was this whole side of Draco that I had never seen before. A side that I doubt ANYONE had seen before. It was a nice change. "You know" I said, "if you smiled more often, maybe people would actually like you more." He laughed. "Maybe."
For the next few weeks Draco and I were becoming better and better friends. We would sit together at lunch, hang around in the common room, and play pranks on everyone. Harry was busy talking to Dumbledore and other things for him to pay much attention, so I didn't need to worry about him. Ron and Hermionie were lessed then pleased, but I got them to come around. Slytherin's kept giving us weird glances but Draco quickly rendered them silent. It was nice.
I still missed my Gryffindor friends, but everyday it seemed that I was coming more and more adapted to Slytherin. Everyday it became a little less painful for me to wake up in the same room as Pansy. I started to like the green dungeon.
I really wanted to kiss him. Everytime I was around him, I wanted to wrap my arms around him and kiss him. I imagined if it was going to be soft, or were there going to be fireworks like I imagined it. Every day I came closer and closer.
Finally one day I decided that I was going to do it. We were hanging out in Draco's room like usual. I was lying on his bed, flipping through his magazines he got from the muggle world. "So i'm thinking pizza tonight. That sond good?" he asked me. I smiled. "Sure. But don't get sauce on my skirt like last time." He laughed. Ever scince I was around him, he woud seem to laugh more, smile. He jumped down on the bed, making me jump up in the air. I let out a little scream, the hit him softly with my magazine.
"You siriously need to stop doing that!" I said. He just laughed. I look into his eyes. They were grey, and mysterious. He also looked at me. Slowly, he put his arm around my neck, and leaned in. My heart was racing. Then he whispered in my ear. "Alison." I wanted to let out a G-d damn scream right then and there. Oh, he was hot. Then I couldn't take it anymore. Closing the gap between our mouths, I kissed him.
Imagined the best feeling in the world. Them times that by an infinity. That didn't even come close to what I was feeling. He kissed me back, slowly. It was amazing. Finally breaking apart, we panted for air. "This is so much better then a love potion." I smiled, and we fell back into his bed, just lying there.
I loved it.
