You woke up in your bed, waiting for your eyes to adjust. Once they did, you could see clearly. You looked around your room, and next to you was a sleeping Xanda. His head softly lying on the edge of your bed while the rest of him was on a chair next to you. Soft breaths were coming from his mouth. He looked peaceful, harmless. Beautiful.

You moved slightly to straighten yourself but as soon as you did Xanda's head shot up.

"You're awake, are you okay? Do you need a drink?" Xanda said with a bit of a rush, but his voice was still comforting. Somehow.

You smiled and nodded when he asked if you were okay, and you shook your head no when he asked if you needed a drink.

"How long have I been out for?" You asked, finally finding your voice.

"Only a couple of hours, its after dark." Xanda replied, straightening his back, along with a quiet 'crack.'

"H-How did I get... here?" You asked with a bit of a shake in your slightly weak voice. Last time you remember, you were at school.

"Once you passed out I took you home, your mother wasn't here so I got the keys from your pocket and put you in bed." Xanda explained.

"And you've been waiting for me to wake up ever since?" You questioned.

"I haven't left your side." Xanda said.

"What happened to me?" You asked confused. All you remember is Kayne being an ass and Xanda coming to your rescue, again.

"You blacked out, (Y/N)... you haven't eaten all day, have you?" Xanda said, now sounding worried. Now that you remember, you haven't, and you didn't eat much yesterday either. Actually, you haven't been eating much of anything, ever, since you moved here.

"Oh, um, no... But I'm fine." You said, although it was a lie. Your stomach felt horrible, but you didn't want to be weak in front of Xanda. You felt sick.

"No you're not fine, I'll get you something to eat. Don't move." Xanda said, he was like a worried boyfr- .. friend. He was like a worried friend.

Xanda got up and went to the kitchen in search of some food for you. You really didn't feel good, you felt terribly sick and also felt like death.

You were thinking about Xanda, he is kind, and everybody at school loves him, except for Kayne and his gang, they're scared of him. Why are they scared of him, is there something I don't know?  But he isn't so scary, is he? No. He's ador-

Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of your door opening and closing. It was Xanda, he was carrying a bowl of food. It looked liked chicken noodle soup, and it looked damn good. He sat down in the same place he was before and handed you the bowl. Yep it sure was soup.

"Eat up." Xanda said. You looked up at Xanda and back down to the bowl. It smelt just as good as it looked, you grabbed your spoon and put the warm soup into your mouth. Delicious.

"Thank you Xanda, but you didn't ha-"

"I did have to, you need to take better care of yourself. But of course, I wouldn't mind saving your life everyday."  Xanda said before I could finish my own sentence. You took it as sarcasm.

"Well, I mean, you pretty much do save my life everyday." You said, thinking about Kayne and how Xanda is always there.

Without even realizing it, you were deep in thought, about Xanda, of course. But it was different this time.

Xanda is always there for me, since day one. Is that weird? Maybe. But what if one day, he's just not  there. What if, one day something happens, and I'm expecting X to come and save me, but, he's just, not there.

Now your head was hurting.

"Are you okay? Is the soup that bad?" Xanda asked, I gave of a little giggle and put those thoughts at the back of my head where all my other unwanted thoughts sat.

"Yes, I'm fine, and no, the soup ins't that bad. Actually its really good. Thanks, again." You said, and continued eating.

"You say thanks way to much." Xanda said, you just smiled.

"I'm thankful."

-

Once you finished your soup and your mum came home, Xanda decided to leave.

"It's pretty late now, Is your mum always home this late?" Xanda asked while grabbing his jacket.

"Yeah, we never get any time together. By the time i wake up, she's leaving, by the time she comes back, I'm going to sleep." You said, looking down at your empty bowl.

"That must be hard." Xanda said with a soft tone is his voice, that somehow always made me feel better.

"Yeah it is, but I manage. It's not all bad." You smiled up at Xanda, It wasn't a real one though.

"Well, I'll see you at school. Make sure you eat, unless you want me to stay here all day tomorrow too." Xanda said, walking towards the door.

"Hee, Heh, heh.... Hehh.. Okay, bye, thank you." You said awkwardly and quietly, a little embarrassed. You heard him laugh softly to himself as he left.

Minutes later your mum came into your room.

"Was that your friend?" She asked. You nodded.

"Are you okay?" She asked. You nodded again.

"Tired." You then said. She sat down on the bed next to you.

"You're always tired, are you sure you're okay?" She asked giving a warming smile. Somehow it was different to when Xanda done it. With Xanda you feel safe. With your mum, you feel, well, you didn't know exactly. To you, it was just a smile.

"I'm positive mum, really, it's just school. Being new and all, but It's all good." You smiled and she smiled back.

She took the empty bowl and said goodnight, leaving and shutting the door behind her. You gave a loud sigh and looked to your ceiling, tracing invisible lines, making imaginary pictures. You did this for a while before falling to sleep.
