"What are you doing?"
"Frankie!" I snap, putting the plate back in the cupboard. "Let it go. She'll let me know when and if she's ready. I can't force her to decide, Callie did that and it ruined Arizona. I screwed up and I have to accept that. Arizona doesn't. It's up to her if she stays. She has to think about Sofia too"
"You're giving up on her"
"No I'm not" I sigh and turn back to my laptop. "She lost a baby. And it ended her marriage. Callie couldn't have a baby and Arizona didn't want to risk losing another one. I gave her a chance at being a mom again, Sofia was excited to have a sibling and I took it from them. She has a right to be alone right now. She will call if she wants me back"
"How long has it been since you last talked to her?"
"Two weeks" I sigh, pulling the drain. "She said she would let me know when she does. I respect her need for some time. Let it go"
"I'm landing soon. We'll talk about this when you pick me up"
"No we won't. Or I'll push you out of the moving car" I snap and end the call. I grab my keys out of the bowl and open the door. "Arizona"
"I've been standing here trying to figure out how to say this"
"Say what?"
"I want to marry you"
"Well that works" She sighs "Arizona, don't. Take as long as you need"
"No. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. What you did hurt me, I was confused and angry and it hurt like hell. But it was over 3 weeks ago and now I'm just holding a grudge to hurt you. And I don't want to hurt you because I love you so much it frigging hurts. So marry me Eliza. I don't need much, I have Sofia back and Yea I don't need to be in a relationship to be happy. Cause I'm happy but I'm empty without you. Something doesn't feel right when I can't talk to you. You make me feel like a teenager in love for the first time, just seeing you in a scan room or walking down a corridor makes my body react. So will you just marry me?"
A knock on the front door makes me groan and curl into Arizona more.
"They'll leave" She mumbles, kissing my temple. The knocking continues and I sigh and untangle myself from Arizona, pulling my robe around me. She sits up and wraps the sheet around her, bending down and grabbing her leg as I leave my room.
"What?" I snap, yanking open the door. "I completely forgot!"
"No it's OK. I mean it's easy to forget to pick your sister up from the airport when you had just finished talking to her" Frankie snaps, pushing past me. "Cabs are expensive. You owe me"
"Who is it babe?" Frankie stops talking as Arizona shuffles into the lounge, the sheet wrapped around her
"Oh. So I had to take a cab so you could get laid? Nice sis. Real nice"
"Frankie I forgot. I'm sorry"
"I thought this wasn't happening"
"It wasn't. I was leaving to come pick you up but she was outside my door"
"So you took her to bed?"
"I should get dressed and go" Arizona retreats back to my room and I sigh.
"I'm sorry I forgot to pick you up. I got sidetracked when she proposed"
"She what?!" I lift my hand and show her the diamond on my finger. "Oh my god" She grabs my hand and gawks at it. "Wow it's gorgeous and big. You didn't tell me she was loaded"
"She's not loaded she just has money. And owns a hospital"
"Congratulations sis. I'm happy for you"
"So now will you drop the whole. 'Giving up on her' thing"
"Uh huh. Wow. Have you told mom?"
"It just happened an hour ago".
"Two hours. But you haven't told mom cause you know they're old fashioned"
"I haven't told mom because I took her straight to bed and wasn't planning on leaving it tonight" Arizona clears her throat.
"I uhm. Your dad knows. I asked him two days ago if I could"
"You asked for my dad's blessing? Oh she's a keeper E" I hit Frankie in the stomach, turning to Arizona.
"You sat on this for 2 days?"
"A little bit longer. I was going to ask you but then that whole thing happened. And then for about a week now I've known that I was going to ask"
"A week?"
"Told you you should have talked to her"
"Shut up Frankie"
"I will see you tomorrow"
"Why are you leaving?" Frankie asks, "I'm going to bed and I have headphones" Frankie waves goodnight and heads down to the spare room.
"Frankie!" I snap as Arizona kisses my temple. "You aren't going anywhere though, I've barely started with you"
"Oh?" I peel her jacket off of her and throw it on the couch before moving her back into my room. She laughs as she falls back onto my bed once I've pushed her, once she's out off her clothes again.
My robe hits the floor as I straddle her hips and our hands grip each other's above her head as our lips connect.
"I love you"
"No talking"
