"Where did he go?"
"After T-Bag," I tell him, "I did tell him not to but you know what he gets like."
"Do you remember where Sucre said T-Bag is staying?"
"Uh, yeah, um, the Fin Del Camino Hotel in central Panama." I recall from the message Mike read out.
"Come on." He says and I follow him off of the boat before he starts to break into a run. We find our way back onto the road and Linc manages to convince one of the very few drivers around to give us a lift into the centre.
Michael said it's about an hour.
"Do you have a plan?" I ask.
"Nope," Linc replies. "I'm just gonna wing it."
"Uh, is that really the best idea?" I say a little uncertainly.
"Probably not." He admits and I look at him seriously, I mean, this could end badly. "Don't worry, everything's going to be fine." he says and puts his arm around my shoulders before I unsurely lean into his chest.
I thank the driver when we reach the centre and we climb out of the car before we start walking along the busy paths. It's extremely hot and there's a lot of people wandering around so it's hard to spot Mike, or T-Bag or Sucre.
We look around and eventually we see the back of two people who resemble Michael and Sucre and... Bellick? What's he doing here with them? We look at each other for a moment before looking back at the street and spotting another familiar face, Mahone.
He's walking a little behind the three others and he reaches to the front of his pants, putting his hand on his gun, but before he can pull it out Lincoln walks over and throws a punch at his face.
He launches all his body weight onto him and they break through the doors of the building they are stood in front of. Mahone remains on the ground while Lincoln repeatedly plummets his face with punches and takes kicks at his stomach. Alex then grabs his foot tripping him up before they both stand circling around each other.
I stand there not really knowing what to do right now, "maybe there's another way to sort this out." I say in the hope that no more violence or killing will happen but Mahone just stares at me for a moment before turning back to Linc.
"You're not gonna like how this ends, Lincoln." he says, "I'm giving you a chance right now. Just back away, all right? Just back away."
"You're the son of a bitch who killed my dad?" replies Lincoln, "you're done."
Linc makes another lunge at him but Alex dodges out of the way before punching Lincoln in the chest and turning him around into a head lock so I advance forward punching Mahone in the face but he's strong and pushes me off easily keeping Linc's neck firmly in his arm.
Lincoln begins to go purple in the face from the lack of oxygen reaching his body and that's when I see the gun so I scramble forwards for it and point it at Mahone. "Let him go." I demand and he loosens his grip allowing Linc to catch his breath before moving away from Alex.
"Those bullet holes don't heal too good, do they, Mahone?" Lincoln taunts as I point the gun at him.
"Toss me the handcuffs." I instruct him but he just glares at me, "hand them over, or I swear to God, I'll blow your head clean off." Lincoln looks at me a shocked by the venom and seriousness in my voice.
But Mahone doesn't seem to believe me because he makes a move and grabs the gun from my hands before I even know what's happening.
He handcuffs Lincoln to a pole and then finds rope that he uses to tie one of my hands to the pole as well. "Linc, I'm sorry." I whisper, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to let go of the gun."
"Hey, it's okay, don't worry." He replies sincerely but I can't help but feel guilty that we're in this mess. If I'd tried harder to stop Michael from leaving in the first place, if I'd kept a stronger grip on the gun, if I'd just done things differently it'd be okay, but it's not.
"Contact Michael." Mahone says pointing his gun at us and hands Lincoln a cell phone to use.
Lincoln tries to put a message on the net in the hope that Michael will see it some how as he's with Sucre.
"He isn't answering." Lincoln says after a while of waiting for a reply.
"I certainly hope your brother makes it back to that boat." Mahone says.
"And if he doesn't?" asks Linc, "you should see yourself, you look like you're hanging in there by a thread."
"I just want this over with."
"Then you should never have come down here." Lincoln tells him, "in case you hadn't noticed we don't quit for no one."
"Thank God for that because it's guys accused of things like you were that keep guys like me in business. Kept guys like me in business, rather."
"It's gonna end bad for you, man. There's a couple of things in this world I'm good at. One of them is looking into a man's eye and knowing when he's beat." Linc says and Mahone looks away from him.
"Try to call him." Mahone orders and Lincoln gets out the phone again dialing the number and then putting it on speaker.
"Linc?" Mikes voice answers.
"I'm sorry, Michael." He replies.
"What's wrong?"
Mahone puts his hand out and Lincoln hands him the phone, "Hello, Michael."
"If you touch my brother or my girlfriend, you're a dead man." Mike instantly says.
"Oh, please, you don't have to worry about that. But when it comes right down to it, they are just like you. They have a heart that won't kill a man.
"What do you want, Alex?" Michael asks.
"I'll tell you exactly what I want but first things first, when the authorities captured Bagwell today the money was nowhere to be found. Now, I can only assume that you've got the money, aboard the Christina Rose right now. It's an amazing plan, Michael, take the money, take the boat and disappear forever. But you are not the only one that needs to disappear." He says. "Are you still there?"
"Yeah, I'm still here."
"Good, because I'm gonna say this and I'm gonna say this once; bring me the money, bring me the boat."
"You are out of your mind." Michael says.
"Not really. We both have something the other person needs. It all comes down to this, Michael; your brother and your girlfriend for your plan." Mahone tells him, "five minutes, that's what you have."
