I'm so alone and confused that I actually resort to contacting Sara who turns out to have also come back to Illinois and she allows me to stay with her in a house that her old friend Bruce helped her get.
It's weeks before anything happens but then Michael and Lincoln seem to have heard that I'm not actually dead and Bruce contacts me to let me know that he's bringing them to see me if that's okay. And I agree. It seems cruel to allow them to think I'm dead when I'm not.
"I'll get out of your hair for a bit. You deserve time to explain everything." Sara says, picking up her bag and walking towards the door. I haven't told her everything that happened to me because it's been too painful to think about but she understands the general gist of what happened.
"Thank you, Sara, for everything." I smile and she returns it, before walking out again.
I'm not alone for long and then I hear a car pull up outside and footsteps jogging to the door that's when I stand up and pat down my clothes nervously.
I see the brothers enter the room and stop when they see me. They both look as if they're about to cry, as well as looking completely shell-shocked - which I understand, of course.
Michael takes a step forward at the same time as me and reaches out, placing a hand on my cheek. He runs his thumb over my skin and then pulls me against him into a massive hug. He smells exactly the same. Manly and fresh and I've missed him like crazy. I hold onto him tightly, not wanting to let go, until he pulls my head back so that I can look at him.
Both of his hands caress my face and stroke my hair while he looks deep into my eyes. I take in all his features. His tan, his stubble, his mesmerising eyes and his plump, soft lips that suddenly crash onto mine passionately taking all other thoughts out of the equation.
We part from each other and I see Linc stood on the other side of the room, looking at the floor, with his hands deep inside of his pockets. His got bags under his eyes and he looks... broken. I have a strong feeling that I mean more to him than I realised.
I walk over to him and only when I've stopped directly in front of him does he look at me. A single tear falls from each eye and I lift my hands to wipe them off of his face. "I'm sorry." I whisper and he breathes out a choked sigh before wrapping his muscular arms around me.
"What have you got to be sorry for?" He shakes his head and holds me against him. "I've missed you, and your smell and your smile and everything about you." He says and I laugh into his chest.
"I've missed you too, Linc."
When we turn back around Bruce is gone but he's left a bag with Chinese takeout on the floor, which we pick up and sit around on the floor and start to eat. "I thought I'd never see you again." Michael speaks and I look at him hesitantly, full of guilt.
"If I'm honest, that was my plan." I admit. "I was so scared and in so much pain that I didn't want to be around anyone, but then..." I take a deep breath and frown, looking down at my hands. "I realised I don't have anyone left. I'm alone."
They both look at me with sorrow. "As long as I'm alive, you'll always have someone left." Lincoln promises and Michael smiles saying, "the same with me." I reach out and take their hands before they pull me into a group hug.
"I'm tired." I announce and then stand up, heading to the bedroom, aware that Michael will follow me inside. Which he does. He sits on the bed beside me and I take hold of his hand.
"How much time are you looking at?" I ask him, suddenly sad, as Bruce told me that they were both arrested but offered a deal. I lay down on Mike's lap and he plays with my hair while I look up at his handsome face.
Michaels smile fades before he says, "they're saying fifteen years. I'll have to find out for sure."
"What about the deal?" I ask, hoping that he'll take it.
"No jail time, in exchange for takin down the Company." He tells me.
"How?" I frown, worried about the safety of this mission.
"Exactly." He shrugs and I push my head closer to his stomach, taking in his bodies warmth and comfort. "I love you." He whispers with so much sincerity that my heart almost stops. "That's all I know right now." I sit up and connect our lips gently, sending fireworks through my body.
He moves so that he's hovering above me and continues the kiss, it deepens and we end up taking off our clothing, item by item. I turn us around so that I'm on top and then sink closer to him, wanting to feel everything about him. He runs his hand over my back and I know that he feels the scars but he doesn't say anything like the gentleman he is. Nothing can ruin this moment.

I'm sat on the chair by the window, looking out into the night as I hear Michael putting on his clothes again. I love him and he's amazing but not even that can take my mind off of what I went through for long enough. The thoughts and pain always creep back.
I know it's only him in the room but his touch on my shoulders scares the living daylight out of me. "I'm sorry." He whispers but I just lean against him, holding him close to me. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"No," I shake my head. "I'm sorry." tears are falling silently down my face.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asks and I lift my shirt up. He may have felt them, but he hasn't seen the scars that litter my back now. I hear his sharp intake of breath and then his fingers very gently tracing the lashings before he hides them with my shirt again.
"It's not your fault." I tell him, because I know he blames himself for everything that's happened. "It's really not."
"Tell me what happened." He insists so I tell him vaguely and I admit that I don't know how to deal with what the Company are doing. I stand up and he holds me tightly in his arms until a gunshot sounds and the window smashes.
I instinctively scream and we dive to the floor. Lincoln frantically slams open the door and yells for us to go so we stay close to the floor and run out of the house to the garage nearby. "Are you okay?" Michael asks, panting and I nod.
"I can't believe they found us so fast." I pant.
"No place is safe, they're not gonna stop unless we stop them. Linc?" Michael turns to him.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" He raises his eyebrows at his brother.
"Let's end this, but we're not going to leave you behind again." He promises me.
