Alex waits five minutes for Mike to make a decision and then calls him back getting straight to the point, "so you gonna do the right thing?"
"Right for who, Alex?"
"You've lost, Michael, that's what you've done here and you're gonna lose a whole lot more unless you tell me right here and right now that you're gonna bring me the money, and you're gonna bring me the boat."
"And you'll just let my brother and girlfriend go?" asks Mike.
"Yeah."
"Just like you let Tweener go and Abruzzi and Haywire." Michael lists the names of the men who escaped Fox River with us and were killed.
"Things are different now." Mahone says.
"Really?"
"Yeah, the people I was working for, they kind of sold me down the river. Now, I just wanna go out to sea."
"That's funny, I'll have to remember that one." replies Mike.
"I face more prison time than you. I sort of jumped ahead of you a few spots on the public enemy list. You're my way to freedom, Michael, and I'm yours. We both know what the other one's capable of, let's treat each other with respect here. No games, no bluffing. Just two guys doing each other a favor. What do you say?"
Michael thinks for a moment before replying, "where are you?"
"Mira Flores shipping docks, just outside of Panama City. It's a big warehouse right on the water.
"That's a long way. It'll take me at least twenty-four hours to get there."
"Well, then, I'd get moving." Mahone says and snaps the phone shut ending the call and then turning to us.
"How's it feel being on the run?" Linc asks Mahone as he looks extremely smug right now.
"I'll survive."
"Not if they catch you." says Linc, "they'll send you to the chair."
"You think that's ironic?" Mahone asks pulling out his phone again to call someone else.
"It'd be justice." I reply with a sassy smirk.
"Mr. Kim. Alex Mahone. Call me." He says into the phone and then puts it down again and says, "Oh, justice will be served."
My feet are starting to ache from all the standing up and the room is sweltering hot because of the Panama weather. Alex sits on the floor with his chin resting on the counter top staring at the cell phone placed on it.
I lean my head on Lincolns broad shoulder in boredom and tiredness, just waiting for anything to happen. It's going to be like this for another twenty-four hours - unless I die of dehydration in that time. I know that can't happen just yet but it damn sure feels like it.
My mind begins to wander off back to the dream of working at Chicago Med with Dr. Charles and Dr. Halstead and I fathom up a baby that I've had. It's a baby boy, a gorgeous baby boy, and I long for it.
Why do I want a baby so bad?
Maybe it's because I know I can't have one in the situation that I'm in, but I actually feel desperate. I've never wanted anything more. I want to feel it's tiny little hand clasp my finger. I want to feel it's warmth and it's strangely soft skin and it's barely noticeable heart beat because this baby is so small and so precious. I want a baby. I want to get married and I want to have a family.
