Ch. 24, Part 1
Thanksgiving is coming up. Sometimes I wonder why I still celebrate. I guess at this point it's just a family gathering to eat good food. Anyway, I've already been thinking about who & what I'm thankful for this year...Of course I'm thankful for my family & friends. Most people would be thankful for God & religion during this time, but that's something I'm lacking. I'm still looking into what religious route I want to take. I guess I'm also thankful for him. It's hard not to be when he's always there. There physically & emotionally.
-Z.D.I type up the blog update as the song that's previously playing transitions to the next. I post the update as the infamous beat boxing that's at the beginning of this song plays. I knew the song right off the bat. I can hear D'Anthony beat box right along with the song as I lock my phone dropping it into my lap.
When D'Anthony starts singing I look at him smiling. "Girl, I know this might seem strange, but let me know if I'm out of order for stepping to you this way. See I've been watching you for a while and I just gotta let you know that I'm really feeling your style," he sings the lyrics to Music Soulchild's song Just friends. Of course he didn't have the strongest most amazing voice, but he could carry a note.
I look away from him out of the window as we drive down the highway in his Lexus. I watch the scenery as he goes about 75 to 80 miles per hour. I ended up taking up his offer of letting him make the trip with me to Virginia to find my sister. When she still wasn't answering or responding, I knew my mother was right about going to VA. After finishing my midterms and the thanksgiving break officially starting, I decided this was the best time to go.
D'Anthony flicks my chin making me look back at him. He smiles brightly singing the hook making me smile too. "I'm not trying to pressure you, just can't stop thinkin' 'bout you. You ain't even really gotta be my girlfriend. I just want to know your name and maybe some time we can hook up, hang out, just chill." He was annoyingly adorable.
