D'Anthony Carlos has skated through life always being protected. When you're related to the biggest drug cartel in the DMV you gotta be protected. When all of your uncles are the most feared & respected you automatically garner the same attention. Even when they're all locked up or have went the straight & narrow path. With his head held high he maneuvered through life not giving a damn. Not about the stares, whispers & rumors that surrounded his last name. People think they know him, but they have no idea.
Everything they know is a rumor or something that fell on him by default. Most of the time he was simply guilty by association whether it was family or friends.
It isn't until he meets Zipporah that he's brought back down to earth. A girl with the same problems as him and maybe even greater. With a snitch for a Daddy, the whispers around her name are just as loud as D'Anthony's. Those whispers turn into roars when the unlikely pair become friends, especially when D'Anthony was known to down talk his fellow black women. Will this bond last or let outside forces break it?
