It's Black Friday, but I won't be shopping. When you learn consumerism was pretty much man-made & we've been brainwashed you suddenly question it all. Yup, Edward Bernays was the father of consumerism & is effectively responsible for targeted advertising & the general shift in western culture from that of buying things we need, to buying things we want using lies & propaganda. What happened to living simple? Why do you think things break every few years? So you'll have to buy new stuff. It's just psychology. So ask yourself...Do you really wanna go out into that chaos just to save money on a flat screen tv that you don't really need?
-Z.D.I sit at my desk looking at the iMac desktop posting the update to my blog. After that I upload some pictures from last nights festivities of Thanksgiving with my family as well. I mostly just uploaded pictures of food, my outfits and random scenery pictures if I did post pictures. I shut my computer off getting up from the desk stretching. Yesterday was a long ass day and night.
I walk a few feet from my bedroom to the livingroom where it's a complete mess. Asleep on my pull-out couch is my sister, Ziya and my cousin, Khadijah. They both came back here drunk past midnight. Khadijah was in no shape to be driving back to Alexandria. They both had trashcans on both sides of them. I smack my lips picking the clothes up that are all over my living room that was now Ziya's room for the next few weeks. I should've shipped her ass back to Baltimore to our mother. I was already tired of her.
My apartment was a mess. I go to my kitchen that's tore up as well after cooking for Brayden. I turn the hot water faucet on putting a sink stopper in the right side letting it begin to fill. I hear a loud obnoxious yawn making me look over my shoulder to see Ziya waking up. "What time is it? What's for breakfast?" She asks all in one breath making me roll my eyes.
"8a.m. and whatever the hell you fix yourself. I told you if you're going to be staying here you need to keep my place clean or you gotta go."
