One year later, and life was finally starting to get back to normal, or as normal a life as four (five, including Phil) widely known band members could have. Their third album had just been released, and despite the hard times faced during the making of it, the band tried to like it. It was difficult, as there were many things to be improved on it, Chris thought, and was especially disappointed by the extensive length of the album.

However, despite their disappointment in the album, it took well to the charts, especially Speed of Sound and Fix You. Their tour had already begun and they were beginning to find it a great joy rather than it being a burden. Guy had gotten married, and Will and his wife were planning on having a child, leaving Jonny out of the loop. Indeed, all the guys felt bad for him, but Jonny hated the pity. He had been in a sour mood since the tour began in North America, perhaps imagining when Chris met his wife in New York and changed their lives.

It was nearly July now, and Jonny was beginning to feel more lonely than he had ever thought possible.

"Don't worry, Jon, I'm sure you'll find a girl who you'll absolutely swoon over," Guy told him one night, where he was feeling particularly down. "You're a good looking bloke, I'm sure there will be someone for you."

Chris is my someone, Jonny thought, but he didn't dare say it out loud.

His mood went on like that until they were back in London, all the guys now back with their wives. Chris had learned to love his life without Jonny as his boyfriend. He had a beautiful wife and a daughter that still made him feel awestruck every time they made eye contact. He still made sure to visit Jon every day, or at least, every day possible, for he still loved the man with the green eyes.

Jonny had gotten worse for every day that he was not with dating anyone. He had gone on a few dates, and none of them had made it past the first night. He hadn't felt a connection to anyone, as he was still so in love with Christopher Martin, that he refused to accept any feelings towards anyone else.

Seeing this, Chris decided to have a heart-to-heart talk with his best friend.

j you're still down. can i come over tonight?

He finished up his dinner and put Apple to bed before reading Jonny's reply.

You know you can always stop by. You really shouldn't even need to ask at this point.

Chris chuckled as he changed shirts. "Love, I'm going over to Jon's."

He picked up his mobile and replied, keeping the mood light.

ok but when i walk in on u masturbating to bono's guitar riffs, don't blame me

He grabbed his keys, his mobile, and his guitar and walked over to his friend's house.

He didn't bother knocking and walked in on Jonny with his head in his hands, breaking Chris' heart. When Jonny heard the door closed, he jumped, then put on a fake smile. "Chris! Don't scare me like that mate!" He said, forcing a chuckle.

"Sorry, Jonny Boy."

He walked over to where Jonny was sitting and laid his guitar next to the sofa. "Look, I know you've had it rough. I know you still have feelings for me."

Jonny looked horrified that he had let his emotions show on his face. "N-no I don't!" He stuttered, defensively. "I've just... had a rough time dating."

Chris shook his hand and rested his hand on Jonny's shaking one. "Jonny, it's ok. It's ok to have feelings for me, but I also know how much you want a wife and children. If you don't learn to store away those feelings, then it'll never happen."
