Veronica Lodge's POV

We pull away from the kiss and I'm almost speechless.

"I love you, Archie Andrews." I say.

     "Ronnie I, I..." Archie stutters.

He gently touches my face, and pulls me into another kiss. I want to pull away, because I know he didn't mean anything by it. But it felt so right. The kiss felt like forever, yet it ended so soon.

"Goodbye Ron. I'll talk to you later." He whispers, as he walks to his car.

     "Your jacket!" I call out.

     "Keep it!" He calls back.

I sat in the grass, wrapped in Archie Andrews' jacket. I couldn't stop smiling.

I called Betty, even though it was midnight, I told her all about my night with Archie. How he made me feel. How he took my mind off daddy. How he kissed me. How he talked about another girl. I didn't care who this girl was, I really didn't. I care that I got to kiss Archie Andrews. Twice!

Betty didn't seem to care. She seem jealous almost. But it's probably something else. Someone else even. I tried to ask her but she changed the subject. I'll talk to her tomorrow. I said goodnight and she hung up. I guess it's time for bed.

I wake up bright and early to get ready. I take a shower and brush my teeth. Again I skipped breakfast. I wore a purple skirt and a white top. My black heels clicked down the hall. I grabbed my bag and stuffed my cheer outfit into it. Finally, I drove to school.

I wasn't flooded with questions like I thought I'd be. And oh was I grateful. I didn't see Betty in first period or second. She must've skipped school, I'll go to her house later. I saw Archie after school at football practice. He waved me over. I was nervous he was going to bring up our kiss. But hey, whatever right?

"Hey Ron! What's up?" Archie said, while grabbing my waist.

"I'm off to cheer practice. Fun right?" I laughed.

"I'll walk you there. I mean if you want."

"I'd love that."

We walked hand in hand to the middle of the girls. It's funny there's not one male cheerleader at our school. Archie hugs me goodbye and I hear the girls behind me coo.

"Varchie?" Cheryl asks.

"Nope, were just friends." I say.

"Good friends." Cheryl snaps, as she rolls her eyes.

I'm cheer captain but, I choose to keep Cheryl on the team. We need ten girls, nine just wouldn't work. We practice for about 2 hours. Then I decide to dismiss the girls.

Now off to Betty's house. She wasn't at cheer practice so it was kind of hard to do our formations. But we tried our hardest. When I got to her house I see her car parked in the driveway. I park next to her car and knock on the door.

"Oh hey V." She says very weakly.

"Betty what's the matter. You haven't been coming to school. Yesterday on the phone you sounded upset," I said, letting myself into her house, "Where's your mom?"

"She left. I'm on my own now. I've been so alone V. Don't get me wrong, I am so happy for you and Archie. But I've been so alone, I get kinda jealous you have someone."

"Oh Betty, you're always welcome to stay with me. And I'll never leave your side."

I go up to her room and gather some of her things. Whether she liked it or not.

"You're staying with me tonight!" I yell from upstairs.

"That's ok with me!" She answers.
