Veronica Lodge's POV

It was just another Monday, and I had to go back to school. Just another typical day of a teenage. Bleh. I shower and wash my face. Then air dry my hair, for about an hour. Yes yes, I wake up like three hours before school starts. I part my hair, and curl the ends until I'm satisfied. Then apply a nude pink lipstick. Might as well do something different for a change. I wear a black skater dress, with a white belt. I finish the whole little look with some white heels.

I stroll through the house, forgetting how lonely it was without my parents. With dad gone, I still felt empty. But I always had my friends as family. I sit down at the dining room table and stare blankly at the pictures in the wall. Each picture hand painted by one of daddy's friends. They were all gifts for his birthday. We had a whole wall filled with paintings of my mother and father. I still can't believe she just left.

I scurry over to the wall and gently touch a painting. It was of daddy, mother, and me. We were sitting in the living room, all laughing. We were having a good time. It felt so fake...I clawed my freshly painted nails into the painting. Ripping it apart.

"It's all fake. Why couldn't we be a happy family!" I yelled. I'm pretty sure the whole neighborhood could hear.

I had totally forgot about school. I just started to rip every family photograph, including my mother. Ripping her to shreds. I wasn't sad, but I was furious. She left my father, for Betty's dad. Why couldn't she leave the Cooper's alone. We all would be happy. I just kept repeatedly screaming. Over and over.

"Veronica? Veronica! What happened dear?" Mrs. Greene asked, sitting next to me on the ground. She stroked my hair.

"Why did mother have to cheat Mrs. Greene? I thought they were in love..." I cried.

"They were in love. I think your mother made a mistake. Your father was a great man, and I have no idea why she would leave such an amazing man. I'm personally trying to find a man who could treat me as well as your father treated you and your mother. He loved you and your mother. And she loved you as well. Now why don't we get you to school?"

"Can I tell you something? I want to try and stop...I want to be normal again, Mrs. Greene."

     "What do you mean sweety?"

"I lied to you...some days I don't eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Because I still get over the fact daddy's gone. I've been taking pills to stop my hunger. I want to be perfect for my father. I want him to be proud."

"Oh honey! Trust me your father is very proud of you. You never have to change anything about yourself. Archie doesn't  ant love you because you're skinny, or because you're a cheerleader. He loves you because you're you. Betty doesn't love you because you're perfect, but because you're real. I love you because you're my family, not because you're beautiful. But don't get me wrong you're gorgeous. You're father is very proud of you. You never need to change."

Mrs. Greene wraps her arms around me. I cried into her shoulder. She sang my a song, until the doorbell started to ring. *ding dong* *ding dong* * ding dong*

     "Coming!" Mrs. Greene calls out.

I stay seated on the floor and wipe my tears. I wonder if any of my friends from school are asking where I am. I wonder if they even care. I try listening in to Mrs. Greene's and the mysterious door bell ringer's conversation. But all I hear is mumbling.  I get up and tip toe closer. I can start to make out words.

"Can I see her please? Betty and Jughead are in the car, can they come too?" I hear Archie ask. I smiled.

"I think you should leave Mr. Andrews. Veronica doesn't want to see you..." Mrs. Greene replies.

Now I'm angry, she can't just send my friends away like that.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Tell her I said-" Archie starts to say.

"Archiekins!?" I gasp, as I run over and hug him, "I'm sorry I didn't come to school today. I've missed you guys. Can I go to Pop's Diner with them Mrs. Green?"

"I don't think that's a good idea honey." She said, trying to close the front door.

"Thank you! I won't be home too late." I laugh, as I drag Archie to the car.

"What's her problem? Why did she say that?" Archie asked.
