I stood in silence, staring out at the rolling waves from the forest edge. Everyone had gone to bed now, although I had no idea where Fang was.
I knew we weren't going to get far if they couldn't just get along. Team work doesn't happen until the entire team actually works together.
I heard the crunching of leaves under feet, as someone approached from behind. I knew it was Fang. He sidled up next to me.
"Where did you go?" I asked, curious. I turned and met his gaze. His tousled short hair shined in the moonlight, and his eyes twinkled as he blinked.
"For a walk." he said, pulling me against his hard chest, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Fang," I started, knowing I needed to talk to him about Dylan. It was so easy to get lost in Fang and his warm embrace.
"Mm?" He kissed my neck, his hot breath fanning my neck.
"Stop." I pushed his head away from my neck, and stepped away from him, crossing my arms.
"Max, what's up?" Fang looked concerned. I took a breath.
"Is this about Dylan? Because he needs to get off his high horse and-"
"Fang you are part of the problem too! You need to stop picking on him and analysing everything he says." I exclaimed, brushing the hair out of my eyes.
"But he's acting as if he's a leader along with you, and that you guys are some sort of tight team who make decisions for all of us! He's acting as if you guys are together and I don't even exist!" I finally understood what Fang was saying.
The wind rustled the tree leaves above us. The moon was high in the sky, it's light illuminating all of Fangs chiseled features. After a pregnant silence, I spoke.
"I love you."
"I love you too but Dylan has to go!" Fang frowned. I bit my lip and grabbed his arm.
"No. I am not in a serious relationship with Dylan, not does he have any say in what we do and how we run our Flock. You do. He is not taking your spot, and if he tried I would make sure he couldn't reproduce." Fangs eyes weren't letting his emotions show.
"Dylan has to stay though, and that means you need to ignore him and stop picking arguments with him. Okay?" I finished, taking his hand in mine.
"I get it but I don't like it."
I nodded.
"I'll do it for you." He said after some time. I smiled and kissed him. He groaned happily, like I had been depriving him of something so good.
"Let's go to bed." I said pulling away. He pouted.
"Why don't we stay here?" He asked suggestively, smirking.
"Nope, lets go."
A/N - Hey, so I know it's been almost a whole year and I'm super sorry about that. I'm gonna try to get back onto this again. I've just been super busy with school stuff, and sport. I had some serious writers block as well.
I know this is not the longest chapter but I promise there will be more!
