Chapter Seven

Caden's P.o.v

When I woke up, Serenity was curled into a ball in the corner. She was rocking and saying something I couldn't hear.

"Serenity?" I said cautiously. Her head whipped up, fear in her eyes. Then she calmed down.

"Oh. It's just you." She said, standing up, there was a piece of paper in her hands.

"What's that Sen?" I asked

"What?" She said, stuffing the paper in her pocket.

I sighed. "Seren. I'm your boyfriend. Lillie's your best friend. You can trust us! What's haunting you baby?"

She really looked like she was going to tell me. She looked like she wanted to tell me. But she didn't.

"Cay Cay, I want to tell you, but I can't. Not yet-"

"Yet?" I almost yelled. She flinched, and looked like she wanted to cry.

"He won't let me tell you yet." She whispered, tears in her eyes. The she ran out the door.

I followed her, then got hit with a sudden blast. I fell to the ground, realizing I was just getting sucked into the future.

'No! Not now!' I thought, but it was too late.

Pitch black hair, pale, glowing green eyes.

Mace!

He had Serenity. She was tied to a chair.

"Mace. This won't help you. At all." She hissed

"Oh I know. But you did this to me. So you must suffer first."

"What did I do?" She cried

"Be born with superpowers. And keep them"

"that's not in my control Macon. You know that."

"You're my sister. Yet all you speak is lies!" He screamed.

Back to reality, I couldn't see yet. I think I got moved somewhere though, because instead of mud I felt a couch under me.

"Oh thank god you're okay!" Serenity's voice cried and her arms were around me. I got my vision back.

"What did you see this time?" Lillie asked, biting her lip.

I looked at Serenity. She looked nervous, and scared. I sighed. I couldn't lie.

"Serenity...in danger..." I choked out. Her face went pale, and her eyes grew wide.

"I knew it." She said, and stood up. "I knew he'd come for me."

"He?" Lillie, Levi, and I inquired at the same time.

"My brother." She said, wind coming from her emotions. "Mace."

This sent a chill down my back. The vision was right. Mace is her brother, a necromancer.

She ran out the door. I ran out too, knowing she was going to her tree. Probably to look out for signs of her brother.
