Chapter 39:

•one month later•

Once I got home I watched my hunger games tape. Peeta sat next to me at the point where Rue had already died. "Katniss you don't have to watch this." "I want to." I snap. "Well I'm going to bed." Peeta goes upstairs. I stay there and when the film ends I watch my second hunger games. I stopped the tape when Peeta's fake leg was stuck and he couldn't get out. And then the explosion happened. I turned off the tv and went upstairs. Peeta sat up when I walked in the room. "Tape's done?" He asks. I shake my head. "Bad part?" "Yeah." Peeta opens his arms and I go into them. "That's in the past." He says. I nod. "It was the part where I really thought you died. When the explosion happened." I say. Peeta kisses my forehead. "Just go to sleep Katniss." As soon as I close my eyes the phone starts ringing. "I'll get it." I say and pick up the phone. "Hello?" "Hi Katniss! I have big news." Prim says. "Oh hey Prim. You're supposed to be here by now." I say. "Just listen!" "Ok." "Rory is my boyfriend!" She screams. "What?!" I shriek. "This is great Prim!" Peeta turns around and pulls the covers over his head. I laugh. "Haha sorry sweetie." I tell him. "What?" Prim asks. "Oh no its Peeta. I screamed to loud." I say. Prim laughs. "When did that happen?" "Thank Gale! I really missed Rory." "Cool. Well I gotta go to sleep." "Ok bye." I hang up. I go under the covers. I reached out my hand in the darkness. "Where are you?" I giggle. I touch something. "That's my nose." Peeta laughs. I get closer to him. "And that's my neck." He says. "I can't see!" I smile. "I'll help you. If I can find you." He gets closer and touches my lips. "What is that?" He says. "Those are my lips." I chuckle. "Good." Peeta then kisses me
