Katniss and Peeta's future

Three weeks later

Chapter 70:
Peeta had gotten home four days ago, and I've never been so happy before. He now sat in the living room staring blankly at a wall. I ran up behind him and kissed his cheek. "I've missed you a lot," I told him and he took a hold of my hand. "You keep saying that," he chuckled and turned to face me. "Ceaser Flickerman wants an interview," he remarked and I smirked. "He always does," I felt his grip tighten around my hand. "Gale and his new girlfriend are coming here today," he said. I sat on his lap and rested my head in the crook of his neck. "Yep," I said. He kissed the top of my forehead and sighed. "I'm so happy for Gale. You know how he felt about me and you for some time... I just thought he wouldn't be able to find someone else, and now he did," I tell Peeta. "Yeah, I'm sure she's a nice girl," he said and then we both stood up and went towards the kitchen to check on the cheese buns. "I missed the cheese buns more though," Peeta turned to me with one eyebrow raised and he laughed. We both spent the next hour making food.
Suddenly there came some knocking at the door. "I'll get it," I said over my shoulder as I walked towards the door. I opened it and there was Gale with a very pretty girl at his side. She had wavy blonde hair up to her shoulders and dark green eyes. She seemed really tiny compared to Gale's large frame since she was so thin and short. I was about two heads taller than her. "Hi," I gave them both a wide smile and they both smiled back. Gale walked in and hugged me first and then she did. "You must be Katniss! Gale's talked a lot about you," She said. "And you are Elise," I said a bit uncertain but she nodded. Thank god, I thought I would forget her name. "I cannot believe I'm meeting THE Katniss Everdeen ," Elise said. I couldn't help but laugh. "Oh really?" Peeta then walked out of the kitchen. "Hello," he greeted them both. "We should eat," I said quickly and Gale laughed. "Yeah let's eat I'm starving," Elise said .
