You weren't sure who broke the kiss first, too lost in this brand new sensation that made your heart pound in your chest. You didn't feel in control of your mind at the moment, but you didn't care.

Your fingers softened your grip on Leon's shoulder, hesitating before sliding it off of him, settling it on his upper arm.

Time seemed to freeze when you slowly pulled away, opening your eyes to meet his. The water ripples nearby still shined over his irises, flashing a blue hued chrome among the grey.

His gaze never left yours. His mind seemed lost, his attention focused on the kiss you two just shared. Before this night started, right after his break up, he told himself he was done with women. Now, it seemed Nature was playing a wonderful twist in his life, handing him a new girl at every turn. Claire, Ada, and you.

But you were different.

His heart had skipped once, then resumed a couple of extra beats when he first looked down at you, in his arms with flames in the skies from the explosion, lighting up your features. Your hair slightly shielding your face, your expressions soft, as if you were sleeping in his arms.

Now, you were in his arms again. The taste of your kiss still present on his lips, your touches leaving his skin with faint tingles. He hold himself before not to allow these feelings to grow towards you, but now he wasn't so sure what to do.

"I'm sorry...," Your faint voice broke the silence.

You saw Leon's face change. "Why?"

You turned your head, looking at the brick wall right next to you. Shame filled your mind, even your words when you spoke again, "For...that, It was uncalled for, it was wrong of me, I-I shouldn't have done that Leon-"

"Stop."

You snapped your head back at him, catching the firmness of his voice, the stern look in his glare.

"You don't have to apologize for anything."

Disbelief hit your mind.

"But I just kissed you!"

"You didn't like it?"

You gasped, shock showing clearly in your features.
The ends of his mouth curved upwards a little, showing you a small smirk, perfectly fitting on his face, complimenting the look in his eyes. That look...

He had to play that damn card on me.

"You cheeky asshole!" Leon started to chuckle, watching your cheeks heat up while you crossed your arms.

"Well?" He asked.

You kept your gaze back on the wall, silent and positive he could see the blush that ignited in your cheeks.

"I'll take that as a yes."

Leon got you to sit up on your own, releasing his arms around you. The cold seemed to get much more intense without him close, making you wish he held you a little longer. "C'mon, we need to get back to Claire and find Sherry."

Your mind clicked back to Sherry, remembering you told her to run from that monster. "Wait! She wasn't in the room???"

"No," Leon stood up, pulling you up in his arms, "She was gone when we arrived."

You stumbled a little when you stood, leaning against the wall for support from the dizziness. "I told her to run...hopefully she's safe right now."
