The ride was smoother than you expected. The silence hung around all of you, calming the worry and panic that was felt so many times. Usually, if it was this quiet, it meant danger was around the corner. But now, this silence made you feel comfortable. It made you happy to enjoy this moment.

You sat next to Sherry, leaning back against the cool walls, calming the aches in your bruised back. You had your arms crossed over your chest, more like thrown over your chest actually, to preserve what little modesty that remained. Your mind went back to your ruined clothes, showing your damaged skin and black bra. You were bit disappointed that Leon and Claire were dressed way better than you. You couldn't blame Leon, In his police get up, it kept him mostly protected. But Claire was the lucky one, their were a few bruises here and there, not to mention the cut on her arm, but her clothes looked like they were preserved.
It's over. And we survived. I'm still finding that hard to believe.
You looked up from the ground to look at Claire, seeing her pacing around slightly in front of the doors. Her dirty boots making quiet clicks once in a while. Her eyes clouded with worry. She's worried about her brother still. What was his name...Chris Redfield? Right?
From her, you looked to Leon. He was staring at the wall, looking lost in thought. His eyes looked lost and glossy, his mind twisted with what he survived from. He knew it was going to haunt him forever. "It's over..." he started to speak, breaking the comfortable silence.

Claire stopped in her tracks. "Not yet." She turned to Leon, "I still have to find my brother."

"Chris Redfield..right?" You spoke, having her look at you and nod slowly. "Hm, I don't know the name but..it sounds familiar in some way." A strange feeling formed in your chest when you first heard that name. Now it happened again. Your mind processed everything in the past to attempt to remember where that name was from. "Well, he was in the S.T.A.R.S task force here in Raccoon City."

S.T.A.R.S???

"Did you say S.T.A.R.S?" The change of tone in your voice grabbed her attention, sparking a bit of hope in her eyes. "Yes! Do you know anything?"

You had a choice. You could tell her about Wesker and the undercover jobs for Umbrella. You could speak of your entire past, how you knew the parents who turned the city into a living hell and neglected their only daughter. But unfortunately, that option didn't sit well with you.
Umbrella created this mess, and you were somehow involved at the start. If you were to open your mouth , Claire would probably have her knife against your throat, forcing out information you never knew about from the beginning. You would lose the trust and relations you formed with these few people, the first friends in..forever. You've actually grown to care about them.
I'm positive they would care as well...but keeping secrets is normal, right? To protect what you love?

"I..I used to have a friend in the S.T.A.R.S force, maybe your brother knows him. I tried contacting him yesterday, but...he hasn't responded in quite a long time." Claire's look changed, expecting a better answer than the one you gave her. "I see..is that why you were in Raccoon City?" You bit your lip, shaking your head no. "Sort of. It's complicated. To be honest, I think you have a better chance to find your brother than I do with my friend."

"Don't worry Claire," Sherry spoke up, "Your brother is probably looking for you too." Claire started to smile, approaching Sherry and ruffling her hair. "I hope so."

The train jolted violently, as if something had jumped ontop one of the train carts. Whatever it was, it caused the lights to flicker, the jolt almost sending you to the ground. "What the..?! What was that!?"
