The large elevating platform lowered down into unknown Umbrella territory. For a while, each of you took turns on navigating a path to where the possible Umbrella labs could be. That was, until you found signs of the familiar Unbrella insignia directing you to where you and the others were heading now.
Claire walked ahead, gun in hand while you and Leon stepped off the platform, Sherry limp in arms. Claire pointed the gun down the clean, well lit hallways for any sign of danger. "There, the security room!" Claire ran towards the door with Security on its plaque, slowly turning the knob and checking inside for anyone. She gave the all clear and allowed you and Leon inside.
The security room had a dim light from the old, iron-bladed ceiling fan, spinning slowly. A white, clean bed layed against the wall on one side of the room. Plain, grey counters with white cabinet doors took up the other side of the room, holding a small sink in the center of it all. A small table with metal chairs took up a corner space. A small, unplugged coffee machine rested on the center of the table, with paper coffee cups. The walls were filled with cluttered bulletin boards and blank dry erase boards.
"Set her down here," Claire said, pointing to the bed while pulling off her red leather vest.
Leon obeyed, gently lowering Sherry and resting her on the bed. Claire began to gently slip Sherry's arms through the vest and layed her back down, grabbing a pillow and rested it carefully under her head, feeling her forehead. "She's still burning up."
"Here," You searched for any napkins or paper towels to use. Unfortunately, You couldn't find any, so you resorted to ripping a piece of blue fabric from your shirt. It's ruined anyway, what's it matter?
You turned on the sink and allowed the cold water to soak the cloth. You rung it out tightly and walked to Claire's side, kneeling down and placing the cloth on Sherry's head, "This should help a little."
"Thanks." Claire smiled at you, pulling a chair over to the side and sitting down so she could keep an eye on Sherry. You stood up, made your way to the counters against it with a small sigh, keeping your eyes on Sherry. "What do we do now?"
Claire spoke, "We wait."
That's reassuring.
"Wait for what??"
She looked at you, giving you a glare you haven't seen before. Cold and commanding were the two words you could use to describe it. "We wait." She said again, her voice hushed to a whisper.
You brought your gaze to the ground, quickly noticing how dirty your boots were. The waters of the sewers made the material cloudy, bits of dust caked with dry blood all around from the lizard fight. The bottom of your jeans were dark with whatever the sewer water contained, dust turning them an odd color. You bit your lip rather hard, worrying about Sherry's condition. Annette said the vaccine could save her, but you had no idea where to find it, their could be millions of rooms around, and by the time you would find it, it would be too late.
"Hey," His figure found place beside you, leaning against the counter as well with his arms crossed. You looked up to see him keeping his eyes on Claire, his face almost expressionless. "Hi." You replied, your tone quiet.
"How's your shoulder?" You rubbed the back of your neck, trying to pass the time the only way you knew. Your gaze remained on the ground. "It's doing a lot better, hurts now and then, but I can still aim a gun."
"That's good. So..Marvin back there he, he said you were a rookie. How many days?"
"Just today."
