Chapter 4. So I'm Good Looking.
•Arabella P.O.V•
I sit down at the grey cafeteria table and watch as the others go wait in line to get food. I don't really eat lunch, its not that I don't eat, because I do. I love food.
I just never really eat lunch, plus I forgot my money at home. I was brought out of my thoughts when Everett sets his tray down and sits next to me.
I look at his tray to see he got two chocolate milks, two skittles and some taters with chicken. That looks good.
"So, how was class?" Everett asks, placing his phone next to his tray. I look over at him to see similar dark circles underneath his grey eyes.
"Fine." I mumble, covering my mouth when I yawn. Mom said Mr. Hilson wants me to stay at the hospital over the weekend, that way he can run some tests while I'm sleeping.
I watching in utter confusion when Everett places one of the chocolate milks and skittles in front of me "You can also have some of this." He says, putting his tray in between us.
"I'm okay, thank you thou--" I started to say but was rudely cut off when Everett shoved a tater into my mouth.
Well that's the way to shut me up
I scowl when he sends me an evil smile and takes a drink of his own chocolate milk. The smile on his face vanishes when Miranda sits down across from us, Nathan and Hudson sit on either side of her.
They start eating when suddenly Miranda looks up"How was science?" She asks, a smile forming on her lips. Beside her Hudson sends me a smirk.
Idiot
"Shut up." I snap, Everett looks somewhat surprised by my out burst while the others just smile and chuckle.
Before anything else could be said my phone starts ringing, indicating an incoming call. Without checking caller I.D I click answer and place the phone by my ear.
"Hello?" I whisper.
Nathan, Miranda and Hudson were in their own conversation amongst their selves. "Arabella? Can you come home after school today?" It was my mom, and she sounded worried.
"Mom? Whats wrong?" I say, panicking. Everett watches closely, noticing my panic look.
My whole body freezes when something lands on my leg. I glance down and notice its Everett's hand and in one quick moment he starts drawing circles on my thigh, in such a soothing way.
"Mr. Hilson called about your night terrors, he wants to try you on new medication." She says, not really answering the question.
"But why do I have to go home after school?" I ask, dumbfounded.
I hear her sigh on the other end "You don't have to, I'll see you tonight." She says, still not properly answering me.
Then all of a sudden she screams into the phone "That Everett boy must be really good looking." And then she hangs up.
How could she do that?
And how did she know I was with him?
I look over at Everett while slipping my phone into my pocket. The knowing smirk on his face told me that he heard my mothers unnecessary comment.
His hand is still rubbing circles on my thigh, his grey eyes are soft but you can see the amusement in them "So, I'm good looking?" He asks, the smirk never wavering.
I cough and evert my eyes from him and take a drink of the chocolate milk he got me. He just chuckles lowly so the others cant hear it.
Miranda looks up and watches me take a drink "I didn't see you buy anything." She says, is she a detective now?
