N battles Hilda several times along the long road to the Pokémon League, taking a special interest in her. Catching up in Nimbasa City the two rode the Ferris Wheel together, which is when N explains who he really is. Although he reveals himself to be the leader of Team Plasma Hilda doesn't push him away and they meet up several more times with the last one being when Zekrom and Reshiram are in their respective possessions. When N leaves Unova after the fall of Team Plasma and learning that he was being used by Ghetsis, Hilda goes after him. In BW2 N mentions Hilda to Nate and Rosa on multiple occasions, making it clear that she's important to him and that he owes a lot to her.

My thoughts — I ship it, although I do kind of prefer Hilda with Cheren or Hilbert in gameverse. It's cute how this was brought back pretty heavily in the sequels. ** They do have around a four year age difference which isn't tooooo bad considering that the lowest potential canon age for them both puts N at 18 years old.
