there she was once again, right in front of him, just the way he liked it. it felt like years had passed since they had last seen each other, but it was only a few days (6 days, 16 hours, 42,43,45 seconds) . he could see the familiar look on her face. the mask of sadness that coated her porcelain like face had become a signature look she wore to school everyday. she took her place in front of him as he kept his head held low, avoiding eye contact (the things he would do to just stare into those beautiful eyes). the teacher cleared his throat and she sat down. he stared at the back of her head, admiring the way her brown hair fell to her back. it was 10.43am, he knew the question that was about to come his way.

she turned around and looked at him. her brown curls bounced to her side- it reminded him of something so nostalgic, something he almost had. her eyes twinkling as if there were galaxies, and a billion different stars in her piercing blue eyes. there she stood, the love of his life, with eyes portraying an endless universe, the cosmos in all its entirety and the words,

"can i borrow a pen?"

fell out of her luscious, pink lips so smoothly.

"humphrey!" the teacher shouted, which jolted him out of his fantasy.

"yeah," he said, gripping the edges of the table as he heard the class snickered. he stared at the empty desk in front of him, trying to picture her again. he would walk miles for her, even galaxies,
if she would let him. he would travel the moon, and explore the expanding universe just to feel her skin and just to hear her voice once more,
if he could.
