"Si le sucede algo....." /If anything happens to her/.... Javier murmured as he hurried down the hall, panic and fear rising in his chest like nothing he had ever experienced before. He thought he had faced his biggest fears up to this point: Mari had been murdered, Kate had been injured, Gabriel betrayed him when siding with his father, and David had died. But now? The crippling fear of losing Kate was like nothing he had ever experienced. He hoped he would enter and see her just moving from bed, or maybe even something dropped on the ground. He forced the door open, holding the knife and glancing around the room quickly.
His warm brown hues scanned for a threat, but especially Kate. "Kate!" Javi called loudly, his worst fear coming true as he saw someone else in the room with her. It was a woman, who had Kate standing and pressed closely to her. She had a silver blade pressed to Kate's neck, a tiny trail of blood coming from the force of the blade. Javier knew he had to be careful and charming, to save her life. He couldn't just attack senselessly and risk Kate dying. There was absolutely no way he could risk her dying. Javier couldn't look at Kate, knowing to see her panic would distract him far too much. He already felt the own panic in his blood accumulating second by second.
"P-please. Just put the knife down and we can talk. I'll give you whatever you want...No questions asked." Javi spoke, glancing to the woman and seeing the open window. How in the hell had she managed to get inside? Javier was in shock, disbelief, and pain, knowing he didn't close and lock the window in this new town which he happened to be the leader of. It was proving to show that carelessness could be a downfall of anyone. He still had enemies in Richmond, and not being careful enough wasn't going to work. The world was dangerous, even in a gated community no one was safe.
The woman holding Kate appeared to be in her forties or so, and she had long brown hair. It was clear the woman hadn't slept, tears down her eyes as she cried. Her hands were shaking slightly, showing the emotions she was feeling.
"N-no! You don't get to do that! Your whole family doesn't get to live when mine dies! Who the fuck do you think you are!? Before you came here, my family was safe. I had a husband, I had a daughter....and now I have nothing! All because of your rotten family." The woman spoke, her expression angry and hurt, wanting some sort of revenge for what had happened. But in reality it wasn't like Kate or Javi would ever intentionally hurt someone unless they absolutely had to.
Javi watched her, his eyes scanning over her features as he tried to think of her name, or even her spouse or daughter's name. He had met so many people over the past few days, he was finding it increasingly hard to remember each name and face. Especially when he was so exhausted, and wanting nothing more than to curl up with Kate and get some sleep. But then it came to him, this woman, was Clint's wife. And technically, they had no idea what exactly happened to Clint in all the confusion. He was gone, mixed with the crowd.
"C-Clint.....Clint was a good man. He didn't believe in killing or violence. That day...on the stage when my brother had a noose around his neck, and Joan killed Tripp. Clint was against it. He fought for peace in the city of Richmond, and he'd still want it now." Javier spoke, trying to seem as calm and in control as possible, but with Kate being threatened it was extremely hard to do so. "He wouldn't want you to hurt Kate...My family. He would want you to help rebuild with the rest of us. Macy, Clint would want peace. Please, put the knife down and we can talk about what happened." Javier spoke, covering his anxiety with a perfect calmness as usual. It was days like these when he wondered if he would ever get a break, and truthfully, he didn't think that day would come. But if Macy dare touched a single hair on Kate or Gabe's head, this woman wouldn't breathe another breath.
Javier looked to Kate, his eyes worried and loving for her, ensuring her that he would make sure she was okay. But he couldn't look long, Macy tightening her hold and pulling Kate back towards the window. This was when Javi lost his mind, growling as he saw her knife dig deeper.
