A/N: I apologize for some confusing things in this last chapter! I wrote the last chapter in the car, half asleep. To clarify, Javi was aware that the writing in the letter was Clementine's because he knew it wasn't Gabe's. So he determined it had to be Clementine's because they were last seen together. I have re-written that section to make it more clear. Also, I realize I said Macy and Clint's daughter was dead, but then in the last chapter I had Kate ask if anyone had talked to her yet. I have corrected it in the last chapter to make sure that it now has Kate asking if the people of Richmond know yet! So to make it simple, Macy and Clint's daughter is dead. Macy is dead, due to Gabe. Clint's whereabouts are currently unknown. Thank you, and enjoy this next chapter.
PS: You guys must really like some smut! That chapter got over double the views as the other ones. 😉
Clementine woke up before Gabe, another nightmare being the pleasantry to do so. She looked around, and quietly cursed as she had now been pushed far off track again due to Jesus' rescue. Surely she felt a lot better with fluids, but she needed to go as soon as possible. Clementine looked around and saw the nightstand. Eleanor had left food and drinks for Clem. But she didn't have time for this, she only had time for AJ. As she sat up, she saw Gabe laying beside her. For a moment, she felt protective of him in a similar way to how she felt about AJ.
Gabe was quiet and weak, in her eyes, which only made her protective instinct come out stronger. But she knew that the longer she waited here, the harder it would be to go. What better way would there be to go, then to escape right now while he was asleep? Clementine quietly moved from bed and went over to the bedside table.
Gabe continued to sleep on, fortunately. Of course, she moved quietly so that Gabe wouldn't wake up. Due to this,  she was shoving handfuls of food in her mouth. Unfortunately, the food only made her feel sick as she hadn't eaten in so long. Next, she moved to pick Gabe's beanie up. Quietly, she went to fix it on his head before grabbing her bag and stuffing it with the food and water. She then took her knife out, tiptoeing over to the door and getting ready to leave when she heard his voice calling to her.
"Clem?" Gabe asked, sitting up in bed and rubbing his eyes. He immediately went to pull down his beanie as she hadn't put it on all the way. At least Clem did return it to its original owner.
"Fuck." Clem murmured to herself, pissed that she took the extra time to fix his beanie on. Now more than ever before, she wished she was a quick runner and could make it away from him. She needed to get away before he tried to convince her to stay. "Where are you going, Clem? Why don't you get some breakfast?" Gabe spoke, yawning some, which only made him sound and look more innocent. He literally was a child. Clementine could see through him with ultimate ease and years of experience that Gabe hadn't even began to scratch the surface of. He didn't know a thing about survival, or true loss. He wasn't a survivor like her.
"Look, Gabe. I don't have time for breakfast. And I need to go now. AJ is still out there. As soon as I take one step forward, I move two steps back. That....that means I can't stay. I can't eat breakfast with you. Besides, I already did eat breakfast. I have to go." Clementine turned away from him, not able to look at the hurt and disappointment in his eyes. She began to open the door, slowly,  so that the noise wouldn't disturb Eleanor.
"I'm sorry." Clem whispered, already beginning to make her way out the door before Gabe responded. She was about to leave, but his voice was making her stay for another moment.
"Fine. Then I'm going with you." Gabe spoke, standing up and straightening out his clothes now. "If you want leave, then I'm going. My mom and dad will understand. I'm sure they don't want you going alone, anyways." Gabe explained, forcing on his shoes and tying up the strings as quickly as could be. He saw that Clem wasn't in the mood to wait, so he wanted to be quick.
