Reflection: the throwing back by a body or surface of light, heat, or sound without absorbing it.

A reflection isn't perfect, seeing as how it always presents as the direct opposite as whatever the original object it. Many people say, that if something exists, then there must exist a completely opposite version of said thing. I just never imagined in what way.

I worked as a biochemical engineer at this research facility in Kentucky. I was, naturally, on the bottom floor, as my research wasn't top billing in these particular departments, however I was never allowed to know exactly what was the top billing. The upper floors were always being guarded, and when they weren't guarded they were locked. But this didn't mean they always had the best security.

In the cafeteria, I would hear words thrown around about research into "Extended matter." I had only a clue of what that could mean. I thought that it might be referencing the creation of matter, which is supposed to be impossible, and still to this day should be. But I was curious still, even if it meant getting fired from my job I just had to find out. You can't blame me can you?

So I set the kitchen area on fire. It's a bit extreme, I know, but I'm trying to be quick about that. I might only have one chance.

After I set the fire, someone pulled the fire alarm, and everyone else went outside. I didn't though. No, I stayed inside where I swiped someones keys, and went upstairs. I figured I would only have about three minutes, so I would have to be quick. I unlocked the door, and went inside, not wasting any time.

The area wasn't that big to my surprise, considering it studied "Extended matter." It was just two rooms, one was clearly only for observation, as it had a reinforced glass wall situated between it and the other room, as well as an abundance of expensive equipment. Something my undersized department needed. In the other room, there was a large, video projector like device, pointed toward a mirror.

So I'm going to skip to my great decision, I turned the thing on while I was still in the room. I was so curious, that I wasn't immediately concerned that it might be dangerous, and it wasn't immediately. When I switched the device on, a blue beam shot from it, and went right to the mirror, causing ripples to spread across it's surface as though it was a pond of still water, being disturbed by a leaf that was falling on it.

And I, with my immense brilliance decided it would be best to reach out and touch the beam of blue light. And once more, my stupidity didn't kill me. Instead I felt a small chill as the beam produced something that traveled through my body. What a weird feeling that was, but it was one that I felt was important.

All at once, the machine shut down, and a great many of guards broke into the room, rushing me as though I was the worst kind of criminal. Which actually, might not have been far off, considering the face that it was important research. I threw myself against the back wall out of surprise and trying to get away from their reaching arms. In the process of doing so, my back touched the mirror, and I... I almost went right through it, and I probably would have if it hadn't been for those guards that grabbed me. I don't think anyone else noticed that I was on the verge of breaking a few laws of physics, but also I understood then exactly what "Extended matter" meant. It meant, at least I think, that there is more matter than others would believe. I don't think that they actually understood what they had in that room, but I'm glad the research was canceled. Or at least I was at that moment.

Of course, I was fired, a result that I felt was unavoidable, but now we get to the part where I need your help, whoever you are reading this.

When I got home, I went to the bathroom, and got a shower, I was stressed, and worried about finding a new job. I even considered wanting to take back all that I had managed to accomplish that day. Suddenly not wanting to have stumbled upon that weird machine and then I would still have my job.

It was after I had my shower that everything went so wrong.

I got out, wrapped a towel around myself, and then went back into my bedroom where I promptly got dressed, and wen't back into the bathroom to complete the cleaning process. I began brushing my teeth, while looking in the mirror. And it was then that I saw my reflection wink. I thought I might have had an eye twitch, and thus dismissed that thought. But then, my reflection dropped his tooth brush, and... Reached through the mirror, grabbed me, and pulled me through.

Suddenly I was in my bathroom once again, and my reflection was still in the mirror, but, he was waving, and after that, he left.

He was the opposite of me, I have learned this now. He came from an opposite world. Just as an example, a man by the name of Bill Gates is in prison for numerous counts of murder. A genius criminal, truly something to be worried of. Here everything is different.

I have traveled back to that laboratory, and I believe I can send this note out through the mirror. Please, turn the machine back on, it would be really great if you could do that.

Please?

We really would like to come out.
