"It's sooo hot," I complained while fanning myself with a magazine.
"I'm sweating in places I've never sweat before," Jenni groaned, walking lazily to the AC. My phone started to sing to me and a picture from Josh and I from the other night came up. We had on sunglasses and drew mustaches on our finger, then held them up to our upper lips.
"Chello?" I answered, sprawling back on the floor.
"Well hello there." His sexy voice could give me chills even over the phone.
"How are you on this extremely hot day?"
"About to go swimming with a few friends. You and Jennifer should come over."
"Hmm, I'll have to see what we're doing." I told him, knowing I'd go, but didn' want to sound too desperate.
"Good. I'll see you when you get here."

That cocky bastard

Quickly, Jenn and I got ready, loaded ourselves with tanning lotion, and took a cab to Josh's. On our way there, butterflies were filling my stomach as I thought about last night.
"Do you think he's gonna kiss you again?"
"What?" I asked her, coming out of my haze.
"You totally want him to!" She giggled and fixed her sunglasses.
"The least you could have done was warn me about how good of a kisser he is," I said before we got out to the driveway. Music was playing from the backyard, so we followed the stone pathway to the pool. There were a couple of people I saw at the party from last night, but 2 I didn't recognize.
"Hey ladies!" The one that I remember as Austin nodded at us, a smirk plastered to his face.

"What's up?" I asked, opening the gate for Jenn and I. I didn't concentrate on his answer because Josh came around the corner, shirtless with water droplets rolling down his chest.
"Finally," he said, coming over to us. Jennifer was already taking off her dress, down to her bathing suit. As I got undressed, I could feel all the guys looking at me. This made me uncomfortable, but I just ignored it and jumped into the water. When I resurfaced, Josh was on the shallow side of the pool.
"This is so refreshing." I sighed and leaned back to get my hair wet and out of my face.

"Isn't it?" Josh asked as he walked closer to me. The water was to about our mid stomachs and my eyes restrained themselves from looking down - but only for a minute. "How are you feeling today?" He splashed water at me.
"Surprisingly well," I replied, splashing him back. "And yourself?"
"Not too bad. I had a headache, so my good man Kevin over there made me a sandwich."

"Like the little bitch he is," Jennifer laughed, laying on the raft with her sunglasses on. Kevin glared at her and sneaked over to under the raft, then pushed from under causing the raft to flip.

I laughed and went over to the raft, taking advantage of Jenn being underwater. I got comfortable and laid back on it, feeling the sun beat down on me.
"That's my raft, ya know." I peaked open on eye and saw Josh, standing right next to me.
"And?"
"And usually nice people share."
"I never said I was nice." I smirked and sat up so he could sit on the raft too.
"Me either." He winked before tipping the raft over.
"Joshua!" I yelled, trying to walk over to him. His smirk was still plastered on his perfect lips.
"Juliet!" Now he was mocking me? Oh he's gonna get it. I jumped onto his back, thinking it would plow him over and put him under water. Instead, it just made him laugh. His wrapped his arms around my legs, making sure I wasn't going anywhere.
"Well that backfired," I said, causing everyone to laugh.
"Not entirely," said Josh, teasing my by dipping me up to my neck in the water. "We can play chicken!"
"That's a horrible idea!"
"No it's not, you pansy! Jennifer, get on Austin's shoulders." Josh instructed before turning his head to look behind him - right at me. "When I go under, I want you to get on my shoulders. Comprende?"

"Yes ma'am." He just shook his head and went under water, grabbing my legs to put them on his shoulders. I kept my balanced as he came up, hands gripping my thighs. Alright, I can deal with this. The butterflies in my stomach would not go away.
"Are you ready to eat shit, Hutcherson?" Austin taunted him. Jenn's look on her face was pure entertainment.
"Yeah, little Lawrence, ya ready?" Jennifer joined in and did her head weave. Josh and I just laughed and waited for Kevin and his other friend to count down. At first, Jenni and I couldn't take each other seriously; we couldn't stop laughing and wobbling, but not falling.
"Come on, Juliet. Take her down!" Kevin chanted from the side. I couldn't help but laugh as Josh pushed Steve, causing him to lose balance. They both plummeted into the water and Josh and I did a fist pump. I got off his shoulders and he gave me a victory hug.
"We're quite the team, don't you think?" He asked, arms still around my waist.
