It was another hot day in Santa Monica, I sat out on the balcony at the apartment with Jenn, painting our finger and toe nails. I hadn't seen Josh in a few days, it was practically killing me. He's been busy with promotions for a new movie, some photo shoots and other famous things that I disregarded.
"What do you think?" Jenn asked, wiggling her blue toes at me. I smiled and nodded at them, then looked down to my phone, waiting for a text. "I'm about to throw that off a balcony, Juliet."
"I'm sorry, I know it's bad," I sighed, placing the phone on the table next to me.
"He'll call you, he just got caught up probably." Yeah, maybe she's right. It was like he read my mind, because the phone lit up with a picture of us.

"Hey stranger," I answered, a smile automatically on my lips.
"Hey there pretty girl," Josh said making my cheeks go instantly red. "Sorry it's been a while, there were interviews after interviews. Then some more."
"It's alright Josh, I've been spending quality time with Jennifer."
"Ew, then I'm really sorry." I laughed and shooed away her middle finger from my face. "How about I pick you up in 20 minutes for some lunch? My parents and brother want to finally meet you."

"That would be great," I told him, shooting out of my seat and into the bathroom to fix my makeup. After hanging up, I raced around trying to prepare. Jenn went into my closet to find me something to wear. She came back with a pretty day dress that I bought my first day here. I slipped it on and went to Jenni's room for shoes to match my dress. When I grabbed a pair and put them on, Jenni gasped.
"You look ravishing," she joked, running her fingers through my curly hair.
"Thank you," I said, walking to the mirror in my room. I sprayed my favorite perfume on and went back into the bathroom to brush my teeth.

"What if they don't like me?"
"Why wouldn't they? You're everything a mother could love. Beautiful, funny, polite."
"Thanks babe, but that doesn't help?" I sighed and looked back out of the passenger window, nerves binding up.
"Please relax, baby girl. It's really nothing to worry about." I nodded and smiled over at him, lacing my fingers with his. We pulled into a restaurant, seeing 3 people waiting outside the door. As we approached them, I saw what I could only guess be Josh's brother; he was a younger version of him.

"Hello Joshua," His mother kissed her son's cheek.

"Mom, dad,Connor, this is my girlfriend, Juliet." His parents gave me a warm smile and shook my hand, Connor doing the same.
"Nice to finally meet you," his mother - Michelle -  said.

"Now I'm starving, can we eat?" Chris, his father, joked with a similar smile to his son's.
"Yes please!" Josh exclaimed, rubbing his stomach. I sat in between Josh and Michelle, already feeling better about his family.

"So, Juliet, I hope my sister isn't driving you crazy at work, or is she?" Chris asked, cutting his food up on his plate.
"Not too crazy. Nothing I can't handle," I replied, sipping my water.
"Isn't that the truth? You are dating my son." I laughed and smiled over at Josh. His hand slipped to my knee and gave it a slight grab.

After lunch, we went outside and Michelle insisted that Josh and I take a picture. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close, smiling up at his mother. I followed his stare and smiled back. She gave me a hug goodbye, as well as Chris and Connor did.
"Your family is so nice," I said, swinging our intertwined hands as we walked to the car.
"See, I told you there's nothing to worry about," Josh smiled, opened my door, and pecked my lips. He drove me home and walked me to my door, like always.

"I wish I didn't have to clean out the garage," he wrinkled his nose and smiled at me. I smiled back and kissed the tip of his nose.
"Me too," I pouted, leaning against the door.
"I'll text you later, I guess." I nodded and pressed my lips to his again. When I got inside, Jenni was walking around in her bathing suit.
"Want to go swimming at the beach?" she asked, putting her hair up into a messy bun.
"Of course I do!" I ran to my room and changed into a black bikini, got a towel and sheet, packed my beach bag quickly, and ran out of the door with Jennifer. She had me tell her everything on the 20 minute ride there, but she seemed more excited than I was.
"I have to ask you a personal question, Jul, but you can't hit me."
"What," I groaned, knowing what was coming.
"Have you...you know," she wiggled her eyebrows and started air humping.
"Oh god," I couldn't help but laugh. "Not yet."
"WHAT!? I would've expected you to be engaged by now, damn."
"Shut up," I told her before stepping into the parking lot.
