"Lets get one thing straight, Juliet. If you're dating me, you're not suppose to be fucking around with other fucking guys." Michael spat, slamming the door to the car.
"I told we weren't doing anything." I replied, crossing my arms. "He asked me to bring him an assignment and-"
"I wasn't fucking finished!" his strong hand slammed my head into the window, a gasp escaping my lips. "I told you that if I found out this happened again, you would pay."
"I wasn't...I wasn't doing anything..Mike..I love you." I whimpered, trying anything to make him stop.
He laughed, I could hear the venom in his voice. "That's exactly what a whore would say." I cringed at the name calling. You'd think I'd be use to it after a year and a half.
"I'm sorry." I whispered, it was almost inaudible. "I'm sorry." I couldn't stop repeating myself, but it never helped. My eyes shot open, looking up at the clock - 9:57. I knew sleeping wouldn't help, not after my reoccurring nightmare. Jennifer was gone all day for a photo shoot, so I took a shower and got ready for a trip to Wal Mart, if that even existed out here.
It does, and I bought all my usual things there. Shampoo, soap, make up, etc. I bought a couple new movies that I hadn't seen. Pineapple Express is an old one, but I've yet to see it. When I got back to the condo, I made cookies and blasted music. It was fun to dance around in an empty apartment with enough space to do cartwheels across the room.
'Sex by the fire at night! Silk sheets and diamonds all white!'A knock on the door interrupted my dancing, so I turned the volume down slightly, and went to answer it.
My heart raced as I opened it to Josh, who looked from the floor up to me, smiling.
"Hey." he itched the back of his neck.
"Oh hey. Jenn's not here." I said, but mentally slapped myself. Derr, she's not here.
"That's why I'm here." he smirked, peeking over my shoulder. "Can I come in?" Hell no, I didn't refuse. I opened the door and tried racing to turn off the music.
"I like this song." Josh laughed, taking his shoes off.
"Me too." I smiled, once again, and went to turn it down. "How am I blessed with your presence today?""Oh right." he cleared his throat while standing back up. "I knew Jenn wasn't going to be here today, so I came to keep you company."
"That's awfully sweet of you." I replied, walking towards the couch. "What do you have in mind?"
He laughed, and looked down at his hands, then back up at me. "I guess I didn't plan that far." I laughed and took a seat on the couch.
"Have you been to Jenni's before?" I asked, looking over at him.
"Once or twice, but only for a few minutes." he shrugged.
"Want me to show you around?" he smiled and nodded, followed me as I walked towards the hallway.
"That's the bathroom," I pointed, "and this is Jenn's room."
"So typical." he shook his head with a smirk still on his face.
"And this is my room."
I stepped to the side as Josh came in to examine my room. "It's nice in here." He walked over to my black dresser, picking up a picture frame. "Is this your boyfriend?"
Confused, I walked over and looked at the picture. I laughed, "No silly, that's my brother and I at my graduation a few years ago.""Oh I see. So does that make you what 22?" I nodded and smiled while taking off the wrapper around the movie. "I'll be 23 in May."
"I'll be 25 in October." he smiled, walking over to the window. "It's nice to be older than somebody."
"Must feel nice." I mocked back. He raised an eyebrow to me, so I just smiled.
"Speaking of, this view is pretty nice." he peaked out, looking over the city.
"Come here." I smiled, making sure he followed as I walked to the very end of the hall. The french doors opened and I stepped out into the patio.
"Wow." Josh said, resting his arms on the railing. "This is beautiful."
"I know, it's my favorite place so far." I looked out of the corner of my eye at him. He was looking across the horizon at the city, the sun shining brightly across his skin. "Want to watch a movie?" I asked after clearing my throat.
"I love Pet Detective!" he smiled, looking at what was in my hand.
"So do I!" I cheered, holding my hand up for a high five. He laughed and gave me one before we walked back to the living room to watch the movie.
