You're Welcome😏😉

Jordyn Edwards
The Next Morning

I leaned on the counter while smoking my morning blunt. A bunch of shit ran through my mind. Mainly what the hell Brooks meant when kept saying he wanted to tell me the truth and why the hell would Meka drug him. She's supposed to be coming by later on, so I'll most definitely be getting to the bottom of that.

The timer on the stove went off letting me know my biscuits were done. I decided to be nice and make everybody breakfast.

Some days I do wish I could rewind time and go to culinary school. After a while this fast life gets old. I'm almost 30, no kids, never been in a serious relationship, nobody to call my own. I have to sneak around with my bodyguard. Only thing I have is money but that shit doesn't make you happy.

I haven't felt true happiness. I only get a taste of it and that's mostly when I'm with Brooks.

Speaking of Brooks, he came walking into the kitchen rubbing his head. I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his body.

"How you feeling?" I asked.

"Like shit man. My head a fucking killing me." He groaned. "What the hell happened?"

"Meka put something in your drink." I moved and started making him a plate.

"Wait, what?!"

"Yup and whatever it was, it had you talking crazy."

"What did I say?" The look on his face made me grow even more suspicious. His eyes looked like they were going to fall out of his head.

"That you had to tell me the truth. You said that you wanted to be with me but didn't want us to be based off a lie."

"Did I say anything else?"

"You kept saying Ima over and over but then you blacked out."

"Hm." He took his plate from me.

"Soooo, what were you going to tell me?"

"I don't remember baby. It probably was something crazy, I mean I was off some drug."

"But you were so adamant about telling me."

"Trust me, I have nothing to tell you." He came and kissed me then sat down to eat. I just stared at him. I had this weird feeling that he was lying.

"Well I have another question."

"I'm listening."

"While we were leaving out the club I heard Sadie yell that a gun would be in the back of your head Next when I find out the truth about you."

Chris just looked at me. "Well I don't know what the fuck she said that for. It ain't nothing to find out."

Taking a deep breath, I started getting frustrated. Something is not right!

I walked over to him and pushed his plate away. Grabbing his face I made him look at me. "When you first started working for me, I told you that I fucking hate snakes and liars. So if you need to tell me something tell me before I find out on my own."

"There's nothing to tell Jordyn." He pushed my hand away. "Don't let nobody get in your head with a bunch off bullshit. She's just mad that I dumped her."

"That may be true but something deep inside is telling me that something is wrong."

"Ain't nothing wrong baby." He grabbed my hand. "I promise, I would never lie to you. Okay?"
