Christian Brooks

I sat at my desk, just gazing at my computer screen. My mind was all over the place and all I could see was Jordyn covered in blood. I chose the wrong day to do what I did.

As bad as I didn't want to hurt Jordyn, I had to get out of there before my cover was blown. But she's been on my mind every second of the day. When she walked in that room, there was no soul in her eyes. I just knew that would be my last day on earth.

It's been taking everything in me not to go back to her and beg her to take me back.

But I can't.

Damn, I miss her man.

I didn't even get a chance to pack my things, maybe that's how I'll be able to see her when I go get my stuff. I just want to hold her, kiss her, tell her that I love her.

Can't believe I fell in love with the enemy.

Do you know how hard it was to even lay down with Sadie?! Once Aaron text me that they weren't able to arrest her, I had to come up with something else to get away from them.

This some is bullshit.

"Yo BROOKS!" Aaron yelled.

I quickly looked over at him.

"Nigga, I been calling yo name for like 15 minutes! The fuck was you thinking about." He said.

"Nothing man, wassup?"

"We gotta head to the conference room. It's time to wrap up this Edwards case. They got their shipment in yesterday and your girl Sadie filed a police report on Jordyn."

"Saying what?!"

"Nigga she shot her, the girl could've died."

I took a deep breath while rubbing my eyes.

"Be honest with me Brooks, you fell for her didn't you?" Aaron asked.

"Let's get to this debriefing before cap start tripping." I grabbed my things and walked away from my desk.

When I got in there I took my seat and pulled out my phone. I opened my text messages with Jordyn. Our last messages were some of the pictures from Virginia.

Aaron walked in and sat next to me, I quickly exited out of the messages.

"You leaving like that just gave me the answer to my question." He said

I sunk down in my seat.

"Well were almost done with the Jordyn Edwards case." Captain said. "We thought things would be wrapped up a week ago but instead of a raid we ended up dealing with a homicide." Cliffs morgue picture popped up on the screen. I put my head down. "Clifford Edwards, older brother of Jordyn was found last Sunday with a gun shot wound to the head. We are guessing that their meeting with their connect went wrong and it resulted in this. Unlike Jordyn Clifford had a long criminal history. Brooks did you ever hear the name of their connect while you were around?"

"No, they only addressed him as our plug or our connect, never his name."

"That way he wouldn't get caught up in anything." Aaron said and I nodded.

"So a drop was just made to the warehouse that Jordyn owns. We're working on a warrant for that building and for her home. Everything should be finished by the end of the week and Jordyn Edwards will be locked away where she belongs." Captain said. "For a minute Brooks, I thought you would let us down but you came through like you always do. I was wrong for ever doubting you."
