Christian Brooks

The thought of that bullet flying through Rhodes head replayed over and over. I've been trying to keep it cool but I ain't used to just walking around killing people like them. Why did I even let him talk me into that bullshit? I ain't have to prove nothing to him.

Pretending like this shit ain't running through my mind is fucking me up.

Placing a blunt between my lips I lit it and took a long pull. I haven't smoked in over a year. I needed this shit though.

After finishing my blunt I went into the kitchen and fixed me something to eat, then sat at the counter. The front door opened and closed. The sound of high heels grew closer and Jordy soon appeared.

She looked so beautiful today. She had on an oversized sweater with a pair of thigh high boots. Her hair was up in a messy bun. She walked up to me, running her hand across my back then placing a kiss on my neck. "Hey Christian."

I reached down and gripped her ass. "Hey baby."

Jordyn grabbed my fork and ate some of my food before going over to the refrigerator. "Soooo, I have a surprise for you."

"And what's that?"

"Grab that envelope that's sticking out my purse."

I did what she told me then opened it and pulled out two plane tickets.....to Virginia.

"Jordyn you didn't have to do this."

"You promised me Chris."

"But I said around my birthday."

"I know but I just think we need to get away. Go somewhere, where nobody knows we work for each other. Then we can kiss and hold each other whenever we want."

I bit down on my lip and looked at her.

"Christian, are you high?"

I slowly nodded. "I told you I smoked."

"You didn't get that from my room did you? It might be more than just weed in your system if you did."

"Well thank god I didn't." I got up and threw my stuff away then went and wrapped my arms around her.

"So our flight leaves in two days and we'll be gone for a week. I just need to get away before my life goes back to me working all night and day."

"Alright we can go. But listen, there are a few rules. No work questions, no looking at embarrassing baby pictures and while we're there you're my girlfriend."

"Okay, but why no work questions?"

"My mom doesn't know what I do."

"Why?"

"She's overprotective. So I told her I'm a artist."

"Like a painter?"

I nodded.

"Can you even paint?" She asked.

"Yeah."

"Alright. Well I guess I can follow your rules."

"You don't really have a choice baby."

"Oh okay."

I pulled her closer and kissed her lips. Her arms went around my neck as the kissed deepened. My hands slipped under her sweater. As soon as I got ready to put her up on the counter the front door opened.
