Chapter 8 : Blue moon

I think I'm dead.

Cause, I can't breath. My lungs aren't working.

Brain : somebody go help the lungs. I am going to wake the heart, RED CODE. RED CODE.

The reason that I couldn't breath was Ash, standing in front of me in his half naked glory. His hair was wet so it meant he just came out of bath and he was wearing only his pants.

Just looking at him made me think about William Herondale and all those quotes about his eyes.

I might be a genius but it took me time to think about them all.

So I might be staring at him while thinking.

And he was smirking at me knowingly.

"like what you see, Rose?" Ash teased with a boyish grin.

Heart : yes. I would like it more if we'd-

I could hear my brain slapping my heart.

"no. actually I came to tell you that Elias called. He wants us in the base. There is a new mission."

"'kay. I'll come down in a minute."

"and Rose? Good morning." I send him a smile over my shoulder.

"I am not going with her. I can do this easier myself."

"I am the one doing the job. You are just a guardian. I can handle myself."

"ladies. I need both of you on this because you two are the perfect team for this. Lilac you are our best fighter after Ash and Juliet your hacking abilities are the key to the mission."

"why can't Ash come instead of her?"

"because he'll be recognized sooner than you. You have the chance of going in and out without alarming anyone and you won't be recognized. It's also an enemy country. You'll be on your own and if you get caught, we will deny you being our agents."

Who is lilac Paige? Remember my first day? and a pretty girl who glared her eyes out at me just because I was standing next to Ash? Yup. That was Lilac.

And I am currently in an airplane with her.

To run away from her horrifying and yet beautiful glare, I think about my goodbye. How I kissed Ash before going even though the night before he told me to let the time decide what happens between us.

I could still feel the warmth of his hands around me, pressing me harder to him and deepening the kiss.

Be careful the kiss had shouted. I don't think I can bear losing you.

"Juliet!" Lilac's voice brought me out of my daydream. I look at her. "we're here." She says, picking up her backpack.

Breath in. breath out. Hopefully you are not going to die.

We had the whole day to come back to airport and go home and if we don't?

We are as good as dead.

I follow lilac. She knows the location. I am here to take the information and send it to Elias. She makes sure we are invisible, unseen and protected.

I can see why everyone says she is so good. She solves the problem before facing it. Avoids danger like she knew it was already there.

Let's not mention that she is painfully beautiful.

When we get to the building, she silently takes care of everything. Passing the guards without killing them, figuring out the next step. She did it all.

I start to do my magic when we get to the main office.

I hack the system in less than a minute.

-I'm in.

-good. Now hurry so we can get out of this hellhole.

- I'm sending the file. It's untraceable for them but Elias will receive it.

After a minute:

-why in the bloody hell are we not gone?

-it's the internet. The speed is too low. It'll take about half an hour for this to be sent.

-they will catch us till then.what the hell are we going to do for them not to catch us?

- go fight them. Oh and leave me a gun.
