Worried Again

*Ashtons POV monday*

I hated myself. T couldnt even look at me. 5th period and she couldnt even bring herself to look up. I was stuck. Stuck in the position without my best friend. She's like my world. I come to her when life brings me down. But now all thats bringing me down is knowing she wont be there to bring me back up. I need a break. And if its not with T, then maybe i should get someone else.

"Hey, do u wanna be partners?" I get a tap on my back.

"Oh yeah sure." I say, still wondering who i could replace T with.

"I like your bracelet, its cute." She smiles. But who could replace T?

"Thanks my friend gave it to me" I look down at the bracelet T gave me. Then i look up at the girl. I think i found the right one.

"So what's your name?" I ask. This could be a new friendship or a big mistake.

"Jaydah, you're Ash?" I smile. Word gets around.

"Yeah, i am how'd you know" I ask, already knowing im super popular.

"Well, your bracelet says Ash." She laughs, as if my ego was jumping out into her face.

Her dark colored skin lightly brushes my hand as she examines the bracelet. "Oh, right yeah." I scratch the back of my head. I can feel my cheeks heating up.

"So, do u wanna to the project at my house or yours?" I look up my blue eyes meeting with her dark brown ones.

"Uh, well could we do it at yours?" The truth is, my house isnt the nicest, but its small and cozy to me at least. The only person who has ever been there is T.

"Okay, im home alone today after school." She takes out a piece of paper and starts writing something down. "This is my address. Come over right after school."

I smile and nod. Im starting to think this could go fairly well.

As i pass the stunningly large house i recognize where i am. Following Jaydah's address i pass a familiar orange house that caught my eye. T. It was her house. She was talking to some kid. I couldn't ignore the feeling of my stomach dropping. She shouldn't be there alone. Shes always home alone on mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays. Something about him worries me. Then i remember what she said "i do not need protection". I sigh and pull into Jaydah's driveway.

Knocking on the door, i keep my eyes on the orange house next to Jaydah's. More specifically i keep my eyes on the guy. I see them exchange a piece of paper and then part ways.

The door flys open, "Ash!! Come in!" Jaydah grabs my arm and i finally bring my eyes away from T's house.

"Can i ask you something?" I look down still standing in the doorway, while Jaydah starts walking to the kitchen.

Jaydah turns around. "Sure. Anything."

"Do you know that girl that lives next to you?" I gesture to where T's house is.

"Yeah, but, she doesnt seem to nice. Plus, i don't think i like her attitude." She says. I try to hold back my scoff. Gotta play cool.

"Yeah, me either." I lie, walking to the dinning room table. There's a knock at the door.

"Oh i hope you Dont mind, i invited my friend." Jaydah heads to the door.

"Nah, less work for me." I say, kinda regretting it because of how much of a jerk i sounded like.

"Hey!!!!" I watch as the girls hug and then head to the table.

The familiar girl who lent me her flower crown at lunch, cane in and sat next to me. I am stunned by her beauty, i dont know why i never noticed it before. The way her red golden curls fall along her face. Her blue diamond eyes every time they hit the light. How her pale skin reflects the shadows of her dark freckles.

"Ash are you okay?" Jaydah asks. I part my eyes from the golden haired girl. Then she gasps in realization. "Oh! Ash this is Iryse, Iryse this is Ash."

"Yeah i know. do u have any snacks?" I can't do anything without food.

They laugh. "Yeah, i have popcorn, chips, cereal." Jaydah answers. All of my favorite things.

"I'll take popcorn." I say, not wanting to seem greedy.

"I'll take some too." Iryse adds.

"Okay, ill pop some. You guys can go to the couch." She points to her living room.

We walk into the large room, with a T.V that went across her whole wall. Is she for real? Damn, maybe i should be greedy.

"So what do u want to watch?" Iryse asks as she jumps over the edge of the couch and sits.

I walk around and sit next to her. "I dont know, i like old movies."

"Okay, so Horror and Old. Ill see what i can do." She turns the t.v. on and starts going through movies. I laugh. She seems really cool.

As we are watching the movie a jump scare comes on and Iryse grabs my arm. "Hey its just a movie." I whisper to her.

"I know, but do u really think a loud chainsaw noise isnt going to scare me in a quiet dark room?" I laugh at her comment.

"Yeah i guess you're right." She gets closer to me and i lift her head up to look at me.

"Do you think the murderer is the cat?" She asks, still locking her eyes with mine.

"Maybe, do you think the couple will have a happy ending?" I ask, trying to hint that i like her.

"We should find out." She says. I gently grab her chin and kiss her soft yet, rejecting lips.

She pulls away quickly and moves out of my grip. "I meant we should watch the movie!! I have a girlfriend!" Her last words took me by surprise.

"I think i should go." I say jumping up to get my things. "Thanks for the popcorn."

"Bye Ash." Jaydah says with a frown on her face.

As i close the door i look over to the Orange house, i see the guy standing outside T's front door. Almost like he was hesitating. I check my watch to see what time it is, 5:36. T's parents wont be home till 8. Maybe i should go talk to her. Right before i get into my car i see T's door open and the guy walk in. On second hand...maybe i shouldn't.
