Keith x Badass - The broadsword and the gun

Plot: Even though he has a crush on the reader, he hates her for being the only person who can beat him at everything. The reader almost dies in battle and Keith blows up at her for almost dying. They spar and romance springs up from the ground!

You watched as Keith played around with the guardians. His technique was adequate, but his footwork was sloppy and predictable. You rolled your eyes and called for a guardian of your own. Within half the time it took for Keith to finish his opponent you walked out victorious. You flashed a grin at Keith who growled and glared at you back.

For the next hour, you two competed with one another, you finishing the competition with flying colours and not a sweat saw on you. Keith glared at you while you smirked in victory. "You're going to have to do better than that to keep up with me, Paladin. Remember, Allura hired me to be here to train you guys to fight better and frankly, not all of you are doing well enough to even scratch me" You said.

Keith didn't answer and watched as you walked out of the training deck. You strolled over to your bedroom and walked straight into the bathroom for a shower. You rinsed your short auburn hair with lukewarm water and changed into business uniform. Leather boots and a jacket with black jeans and a maroon shirt. It was a comfortable look with manoeuvrability and a statement. You and Keith brushed passed one another, locking eyes with one another with threats passing to both of you. It was unfortunate enough to be walking in the same corridor, but to sit with one another at lunch was unbearable.

You two never spoke or looked at one another. You would give a simple answer to any incoming question, Keith doing the same. It earned glares and frowns from Shiro while you stared back blankly. No one ever questioned your training, but your attitude was the one that made Allura slip. The silence was unbearable to her.

"Can you two please stop with the mask and open up at least?" Allura sighed. "Keith, you were so open to us before, why did you shut yourself out?" She asked.

"He actually opened up to you guys before?" You laughed.

"That's my business" Keith growled.

"Fine, I won't tamper with it then" You replied. Your glare was enough to send the message to him. You didn't mind his attitude, in fact, you liked it. But when it got in the way of business and your goal, that's when it looked like you and him were going to fight each other right then and now.

"Uh guys, can we stop the scarring- I mean staring contest and focus on the food that I made especially for you guys?" Hunk asked innocently. You sighed and sunk back into your seat; you hadn't noticed that you stretched so close to Keith. Lance and Pidge sent each other looks, Shiro and Allura doing the same. You followed their movements carefully even though you already knew what each pair was doing.

You shrugged and at your meal, collecting your dishes and cleaning them on your own before moving back into your den. You had a secret and it wasn't the best to have either. You reached for something under your pillow and typed a few things into the keypad and sending the message. Whatever was brought into the den stayed in the den and you intended to make sure that this secret would not get out at all costs.

"Again," You said. Keith spared with Hunk, Pidge spared with Lance and you took on Shiro.

"Don't you think everyone's had enough?" Shiro asked.

"I'm trying to exhaust you because when your body is tired, that's when you learn" You answered. You ducked under his hook and threw his body to the side. Shiro lunged toward you, but you simply nudged his arm down and sent him diving to the floor.
