“Shit!” I whispered, looking at Nathan. How was I going to explain the reason behind Nathan in my room shirtless with the door locked? I was so not ready to tell Chelsea what had happened. “Hide!”
Nathan obeyed and quickly gathered his shirt and scooted under the bed. I really need to invest in a built in closet or something.
My heart was pounding as I inched closer to the door. Breath, I told myself. They’re not going to find him.
I unlocked the door to find Chelsea standing there impatiently.
“Jesus, took you long enough, what’d you do, hide a body first?” She asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. I manically giggled, maybe going a little overboard.
“Ha, ha, funny.” I stuttered out. “No, I was laying down, I must have hit the lock switch on accident when I came in my room.”
“Well if you had the door locked, how’d Nathan come in and give you your orange juice?” Shit, did she see him? I turned and looked behind me, but he couldn’t be seen, I played it off as if I was looking at the orange juice.
“Huh, your right, maybe he hit the lock on his way out or something, I don’t know.” I wondered if she could see how my face was turning as bright as a tomato, I hoped not.
“Maybe, why are you acting so nervous?” God, why was she being so observant today, of all days?
“Honestly, because I feel like I’m going to throw up again, and I’m nervous because I really don’t want too. I hate throwing up.” At least that part was true. I tried to calm my loud, erratic, thumping heart as Chelsea continued to scrutinize me.
“Okay, Anna. Well I was just coming in to ask if you wanted to go to the mall with me and Dylan, but if you’re not feeling well you should probably just lay back down and go to sleep.”
Dylan was Chelsea’s boyfriend, and I was more than happy to have an excuse to not go to the mall with them. They had the tendency to be extremely affectionate with one another. And I’m not talking about holding hands and a quick peck on the cheek, I’m talking full on making out and groping one another. They didn’t care who saw.
“You’re right Chels,” I nodded. “Go have fun with Dylan, use protection.”
“You know me so well, Anna.” She giggled, and then winked. “Don’t you think it’s about time you got yourself a boyfriend?”
“A boyfriend is the last thing on my mind right now.” I sighed, it was true.
“You’re no fun. Now go lay down before you throw up on me, you’re looking like your turning green, and I happen to like this outfit.” And with that, she turned around, and closed my door in my face. I stood there for a second before I heard Nathan crawling out from under the bed. I turned to face him, and watched as he shrugged his shirt back off. He looked up, noticing me watching him, and smirked.
“That was close.” He continued smirking.
“You can sat that again.” I muttered.
I took my time walking back to my bed, but before I could fully make it, Nathan grabbed my arm and spun me around, making me crash into his chest. I stumbled backwards as he used his other arm to steady me. I made the mistake of looking up at his face, and I was instantly mesmerized. His beautiful emerald eyes stared down at me, making me weak in the knees. How was it possible for one human to look this godly? I continued to stare, as he began to lower his face towards mine. Did I want this? Could I handle him kissing me again? I was running out of time to decide.
I decided to give up, and surrender to my feelings. I’d deal with the consequences later.
His lips lightly pressed against mine in the single most sweetest kiss I had ever received in my life. Electricity jolted threw my body causing me to jump back, and hit my hip against my nightstand.
“Ouch!” I yelped out. The searing pain was shooting up from my hip all the way up my side. I lifted my shirt and tenderly laid my hand against where I’d hit. Suddenly a pair of hands appeared, pulling mine away from my hip. I glanced up, and noticed Nathan had gotten down on his knees, and was holding my hip. He moved his hands, and gently placed a kiss on the now forming bruise. I smiled down at him, as he returned the gesture. How could he be so sweet one minute and a complete dickhead the next? I didn’t know, but what I did know, was that I was enjoying this Nathan, and I hope he stayed for awhile.
