Both Chelsea and I had instantly passed out as soon as we had gotten back to her house. She had gone with me as I put my things in the guest room I always stayed in, and said goodnight as I swiftly changed back into pajamas. It was now seven in the morning and we were getting ready in her master bathroom. She was curling her dark brown hair, while I was straightening my blonde hair. While my hair was straight it went down to my mid back. I looked in the mirror at my facial features. Already after my mom being gone for one day, my whole face had changed drastically. My light blue eyes looked sunk into my head, and it looked as if I had worry lines etched permenately onto my forehead. My plump lips were pulled into a frown, and I just looked all out depressed. I couldn’t have that. I had to look good, I had to find my happily ever after. And everyone knows you have to look good for that. I poured makeup onto my face trying to hide my worry lines, and make myself look healthy. So far it was working. Thank god. I added some eye makeup, and got dressed. I looked good to go in my denim jeans, and pastel purple tanktop. I threw a white vest over my shirt, and grabbed my backpack. I sat on Chelsea’s king sized bed and waited for her to be done. I smelled pancakes cooking, and decided to head down to the kitchen. Peggy was nowhere to be seen, just Nathan. Nathan stood above the stove flipping pancakes in nothing but his sweatpants. They hung low on his hips and made my mouth water. I had always had a teeny tiny crush on Chelsea’s brother, but he was nineteen, and probably wouldn’t be interested in me, so I just kept it on the down low. But now looking at him, I had to have him. I watched his back musceles move as he flipped the pancakes. It accelerated my breathing as I watched him work. He must have heard me, because he turned around to catch me staring, and winked at me. I gasped.

“Good morning, Anna, looking good. Want a pancake?”

“Uh sure, and thanks” I stuttered out. He stood tall like a greek god. He had green eyes, and brown hair like Chelsea. I walked towards him and grabbed the plate he held out for me.

“Thanks” I muttered again as I sat myself on a stool at the bar.

“No problem, Anna.” He smirked. Why was he being so flirty all of a sudden? Was it because Chelsea wasn’t around?

I bit into my pancake and instantly fell in love. This boy made good pancakes.

“These pancakes are amazing! Thank you.” I looked up, surprised to already find him staring at me. I blushed.

“You’re pretty cute when you blush you know” He said to me, still staring at me.

“Uh.. thanks” I looked down, embarrassed by my flaming cheeks, and continued to eat my pancakes. I heard his bare feet pad against the tile, as he came and sat on the stool next to me. I looked up and met his gaze.

“I’m really sorry about your mom, Anna.” Sincerity rang in his voice.

“It’s okay, she’s in a better place now.” I told him, I really believed she was. Like she said in my dream, she had found her happily ever after. I looked into his eyes once again, and was drawn in. I was instantly aware of how close he was to my body. I could feel the electricity running in currents through my body, longing to touch him. He must have felt it too, because he began leaning in. Right as our lips were about to meet, Chelsea burst into the kitchen, completely oblivious to what  was just about to happen. I jerked my body back, as did he, and began to eat my pancakes again. Chelsea walked right past us and to the pancakes. She grabbed two and then came and sat next to me.

“I never even realized you could cook Nathan, why’d you start cooking now?” Chelsea asked. “Hey these are actually pretty good.”

“Thanks Chels, and I don’t know, I felt like doing something for Anna here,” he chuckled, patting me on the back. “Figured pancakes was the least I could do.”
