Gio's POV
"How can i help you?"
"Well, lately ive been feeling nauseas and from to time to am dizzy and always feel tired. Yesterday, my vision totally blurred and i had an epistaxis." I narrated kahit alam kong emotionally exhausted ako kaya laging pagod
"Are you in medical field?"
"Epistaxis." Was all he said at nagkaintindihan naman kami (epistaxis - nosebleed)
"A nurse." Tipid na sagot ko
"Well, i need to have a blood sample then we'll go on with the short background or what my other pt call the interview." Sabi ni doc habang may pinindot sa device na mukang intercom at here comes ate nurse/receptionist/secretary extracting blood from me.
"So is there any meds youre taking?" And the interview commence
"Just multivitamins."
"Medical history?"
"Uhm i suffered from anemia multiple times due to my work then a fractured femur apart from that nothing that im aware of." See sabi senyo i made the right decision na chaniin ang sagot ko eh
"And what's your job got to do with anemia?"
"Full time ER nurse with a graveyard shift most of the times."
"Makes sense."
"Meet me tomorrow same time for the blood test result." Order ni doc
"Will do." And with that i left the clinic
Bilang RN, i know exactly what to look for. I stripped my clothes apart from my undergarments and stood infront of the mirror assessing my body and there it is...
Nanghina ako sa nakita ko, malalaking pasa sa likod ko at likod ng hita ko just below my butt. Tae daig ko pa yong nag hazing.
Without even hearing what the Japanese doctor has to say i think i know exactly what my illness is, packing tape!!!!!!!
I dont know which DNA set should i blame regardless wala rin naman sila para sisihin ko.
MY FUCKING LIFE SUCKS! Good thing about it less than a month na lang yong contract namin at balik pinas na and i have more than enough savings to last my medications and possible hospitalizations for years, maybe 3-4 kung aabot pa ako.
Doc's aura was off while me on the other hand is too perky - well ive made peace with my faith and decided to live life to the fullest instead of sulking into sorrow.
"Doc, just say it. I dont think it'll surprise me for i saw the signs and symptoms when i got home yesterday." And tumango lang si doc
"Well, im not an oncologist but it seems you have Leukemia. I would strongly suggest that you visit an oncologist for further tests. I'll give you a referral." Doc informed me
"Thanks Doc."
When i left his clinic, i head straight to the oncologist. After series of tests, i was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia.
For now ive had blood transfusions and was given immunosuppressants for medication.
