Chapter 28

Jong's POV

The moment the lights went on i scoured the entire place searching for Gio.

My heart's frantically beating wanting to be freed from my chest, then i saw her on the far left table with Khaye, Ate Mae and Faith.

I hugged her tight pouring my emotions but then i hugged her too tight for she tapped me informing me that she can no longer breathe.

I briefly looked up to thank the Big Guy up there.

Before i left them i felt the need to beg her not to leave again, so i did.

"Okay so Gio Lim's in the house, the question is would she grant Cosplayer_87's request?" Ed challenged Gio knowing Gio unless most will benefit she'll say yes and much to my surprise she rose from her seat and walked towards the stage - damn its been a while playing/singing with her.

My memory of her voice isnt at par with what we're hearing she sang the song beautifully pouring emotions with every word and note.

My heart ached knowing where she's coming from.

I vowed to make it up to her.

To say the crowd was pleased was an understatement for they erupted whistling and applauded her while some were even yelling more.

Gio being Gio just sweetly smiled at them then asked us to play Ironic by Alanis Morisette

After that song, ive noticed her labored breathing so i come to her aid

"Okay ka lang?" I worriedly asked

"Yeah, i am." She replied then smiled then went back to their table

I was feeling ecstatic.

"And for our last song, it's dedicated to the woman who owns my heart. This is Never gonna be alone by Nickleback." I meant every fucking word in that song.

True to her words, she waited for us. We're now at Ate Mae's crib as usual booze and foods on the table.

Gio isnt drinking tonight for she just suffered from Flu so we let her be.

Then Ate Mae voiced out what everyone was meaning to ask

"Why did you suddenly leave?"

Gio almost choked on her drinks gracefully wiped her lips then started

"I've found out that Enrico's Jong's son." Was all she said as she threw glance at me

"How and when?" Ed asked

"The night before Joms' proposed to Faith. I woke up without Jong by my side so i tried to look for him since i knew that time something was eating him up inside but refused to tell me. When i stepped out of our room, i was greeted by Elvie. She told me that Enrico's the son of Jong and that Jong's somewhat confused and refused to take the responsibility of a father because of me. She begged me to stay away for her son's sake.

And because i am an orphan, i know exactly what it feels like to be abandoned, neglected. So that night i decided to leave but after Joms' proposal." Gio narrated so that's how she knew that fucking son of a bitch.

"Pero bakit pati kami iniwasan mo especially ako? Hindi ka nagparamdam tangina!" Khayed blurted out

Gio eased her arm onto Khaye's shoulder then said "kasi alam kong pag alam mo malalaman ni Ed at pag alam ni Ed malalaman ni Jong. I know na hindi mo forte magsinungaling Khaye..." Gio paused as she sips her drink and again she's somewhat panting but trying really hard to control it and i think Khaye noticed it too for she gave Gio a look which made Gio nod.

"So all this time nasan ka nag stay?" Ate Mae asked

"I was in Japan." She answered briefly

"What the hell were you doing there? Visiting the pandas?" Ed sarcastically asked

"Well that and i was a full time nurse by day and a band vocalist at night." She informed us. That explains her more impressive voice quality

"Pota, sa amin ayaw mo mag full time vocalist pero don ginawa mo." Joms exclaimed

"I didnt have a choice for i need to get away far from here and that was my way out." She explained and now she's taking deep labored breaths

"You dont have asthma, didnt you?" Ed asked worriedly

"No, its just that im no longer used to smoke." She answered and we all threw our cigarettes

"Oh no dont stop on my account. Im fine really." Gio panicked that didnt help her breathing

"You're Fine? Are you fucking kidding us. You breathe like youre suffering from asthma and yet youre telling us youre fine. No Gio, we're not giving you reason to leave us again.

"Damn, you are fucking hard to find." Ed told her

"Okay okay. Guys, i owe you an apology and i really dont know where to start." She started

"Well i too owe you an apology." I cut her off for she's struggling hard to calm her breathing they all looked at me expectantly

"Gio, i didnt know that what was eating me up inside back then bothered you so much and that son of a bitch made you walk away.

If only i knew but it was too late." I trailed off and Gio just nod at me urging me to continue

"At the hospital, ive found out that Enrico isnt mine." I finished and Gio once again nodded

"You knew?" Ed voiced out my thoughts

"Not exactly but i had an idea. The nurse who took your blood came back while you were at the restroom and asked for Enrico's mom, so ako di ko talaga alam kung nasang lulalop sya sabi ko na lang baka parating na pero sasabihin ko sa tatay." She explained

"Then why did you ignore us til earlier today?" Khaye asked softly

"I dont know maybe i fear to face your anger thats why it took me time. I was a coward and hurt you all and i really am sorry. I hope you'll forgive me in the near future." She pleaded and my bruised heart once again broke

"We have long forgiven you even before you asked." Ed told her raising his beer and we all raised our bottles for Gio and our friendship.
