Jong's POV

soon after Ed left, Gio regained consciousness.

"Jong?" She said softly

"Im right here, ken." Sagot ko holding her hand which made her smile weakly

"Im sorry." She said as tears fell down her pale angelic face

"No, you dont have to just get better okay?" I pleaded but she just nod

"Promised me, ken." I coerced her

"I promise." She finally answered

"Why did you skip your blood transfusion sessions? When you knew all along how vital that is in your condition?" I wasnt able to hold those words back but then she just smiled

"Sorry, Dad."

"Dont you dare show up in the ER like that again or you'll kill me." I begged her as i kiss her forehead and wiped the tears that escaped her orbs and she once again nod as she close her eyes.

Ed and the rest of the gang arrived with everything.

"Did you really have to bring that much?" I asked as i reach for my bag which i guess contains my clothes

"It's because we're planning on camping here." Ate Mae cheekily replied

After thanking them, i went for a shower and when i went out of it Gio i heard Joms asked, well mas mukang utos, Gio to tell them all about her condition, which she did.

Turmoil's building up inside me, why her? Much worse people deserve to suffer not her, not my woman.

She's been through enough to have Aplastic Anemia.

I havent heard what her doctor has to say but i had an idea that it's no longer a mild case by just looking at her.

By just speaking, short of breath agad. Bleeding gums and nose as well as mga pasa na parang di gumagaling sa likod nya.

Been begging Big Guy up there to heal her since she showed up in the ER.

"How are you feeling Gio?" Dr. Sales greeted her that pulled me out of my reverie

"Much better doc. How are you, its been a while huh!" Gio sweetly yet weakly smiled

"Good to hear and yeah its been a while and i would've preferred a different situation to meet you again." Dr. Sales replied as he approached her bed checking her IVs and all

Soon after he asked the nurse to give Gio analgesic. He then prescribed a higher dose of antibiotics for Gio, so im right its getting worst.

Dr. Sales left but not without making an inside joke which Gio and I only understood well apart from Dr. Sales and the nurse he's with.

"Doc, can i have a word with you?" Habol ko outside Gio's room

"Of course, about Gio's condition right?" He assumed as he sent the nurse on her way

"How was it?"

"Well, its getting worse. I think she needs more than just blood transfusion sooner or later. Her immune system is really weak in fact her body temp is 42degrees Celsius, struggling lungs, has swollen throat, slightly bleeding gums plus the bruises all over her body. Good thing about it is she's one hell of a fighter but if her body refused to cooperate that can only do so much." Dr. Sales replied truthfully, well as expected from a doctor

"What can i do?"

"Not much but i suggest you start looking for a possible bone marrow or stem cell donor, since we're both aware Gio's an orphan and no known living relative." Was all doc said then he excused himself to attend to his other patients

"Ken, i'll be out for a maybe an hour or two. Just have to get my uniform for tomorrow as well as pick some of your clothes too." I informed Gio as i kissed her forehead

"Please watch her for me." I told the guys

"You dont have to say it man."

"Yeah, go and bring pizza pagbalik mo."

"Ingat. Soda at bread from breadtalk na rin." They all said in unison before i stepped out of the room.

"Hi, is Dr. Martinez in?" I asked the receptionist

"Do you have an appointment?" She queried

"No." I replied reluctantly

"Then you need to set up an appointment for he's such a busy doctor." She informed me already attending to other things at her desk

Trying to calm myself, i did the breathing technique

Instead of saying another word to this tool i phone him

"Son..." He said warrily

"Can you meet me at the lobby your receptionist refused to send me in your office nor tell you that im looking for you."

"Be there in 5."

Was all he said and the look on the receptionist's face was just priceless.

In less than 5 minutes the man i refused to talk and see for more than 5 years emerged.

"The next time my son asked for me regardless of what my schedule says send him to my office and immediately inform me." He chastised the receptionist and she just gulped and nod muttering apologies which Dr. Martinez refused to acknowledged.

Over coffee,

"Son, thank you for taking your ti-" he started but i cut him off

"You dont have to, i came here cause my fiancé will need a bone marrow or stem cell transplant sooner or later and she's an orphan. So relatives are out of the question, i know you know exactly where to look for it thats why im here." I told him

"Whoah, FIANCÉ?" Was all he could say

"Thats all you caught from all that ive said? Sorry to bother you but we're both wasting each other's time." I said with gritted teeth and was about to leave the coffee shop when he spoke

"I didnt mean it that way.." He said in defeat

"Sure you do." I replied - note the sarcasm

"But i need to look at her case 1st." He has a point

"Gio Lim at St. Luke's." With that i left the coffee shop knowing that there's a slim chance he'll help, how could he? He fucking left my mom when i was just 10years old then when i refused to do what he says cut off my allowance and disowned me.

Maybe i was just wasting my time but to hell with that i'll do anything for Gio
