Chapter 18

Ross’s POV

My whole family was running into the Hospital. We ran down to Rydel’s room. It was like everything was in slow motion. I looked to my write and saw Ellington just breaking down crying. Riker was hugging him. He was crying and screaming. My parents walked into Rydel’s room my mom was crying and you could tell my dad was holding back the tears. I looked around at my brothers and Rocky was just standing there looking at the ground. I heard the door behind me open. I heard my name and I turned. Laura and Vanessa were running towards us. Talia was in New York with her family so I called her earlier.

Laura engulfed me in a hug. I started to cry and she just rubbed my back. Vanessa ran to Riker and he hugged her. Ellington just kinda fell to the floor. Rocky, Ryland and I ran up to him. We got him up and Rocky just hugged him. I know guys don’t usually do that but Ell needed it. I took Ellington a minute to hug back. I saw Laura looking through Rydel’s window. I walked up behind her and put my hands on her shoulders. She leaned back on me and started crying softly.

I saw Ellington slowly walking up to Rydel’s room door. We all turned and watched him. He approached the door and put his hand on the handle. He opened the door and Rocky walked up behind him. Riker went behind Rocky. I took my hands off  of Laura's shoulder and went behind Riker. Ryland went behind me. Ellington walked in and we all followed. I looked at my dead sister. Ellington walked up next to her and let a tear slip down his cheek. It landed on Rydel’s hand. My sisters hand started to move closer to Ellington. Ell grabbed her hand and her eyes fluttered open.

“Oh My Goodness Ellington you made her wake up.” My mom said

“I don’t know what I did……” Ellington stood there in shock.

“Hey baby.” Rydel said. Ellington let a tear fall. He grabbed her hand and kissed her hand. I felt like crying. He knelt next to her bed.

“Hey.” He could barely get out.

“Lets give them some space.” Mark said leading everyone out.

Rydel’s POV

I just looked at Ellington.

“Ellington I saw the light. I really did… It was the most scary thing ever!” I said almost crying. Ellington leaned forward and hugged me.

“I’m so glad I could save you.” Ellington rested his head on my shoulder. I started stroking his hair. He silently cried.

“When I started getting covered in the light…… I started screaming and I looked back to see if anyone could help me. And you were standing there. You grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the light……. Ellington you saved me from that light that takes me to death.” I started shaking.

“I’m sorry I yelled at you about you dying earlier.” Ellington looked down at my hand.

“Look Ellington. I had already seen the light. I knew where I was going. I didn’t know how fast but I knew I was leaving my family. But most importantly you. My love for you doesn’t die along with me. Promise me that you will always remember it?”

“Promise.” Ellington looked up. He put his hand on my cheek.

“My love somehow dies with me.”

“Stop talking like that.”

“Why should I? If you die I don’t know how I would survive!”

“Ellington I said stop it!”

“And I said that I DON’T WANT YOU TO DIE!! WHAT IS WITH YOU THINKING THAT YOU CAN TELL ME ABOUT HOW YOU SAW THE LIGHT AND THAT YOU NEEDED ME TO KEEP YOU ALIVE!! I DON’T HAVE TO BE THERE FOR YOU RYDEL!! I CHOSE TO!!”

“GOD I’M SORRY FOR TAKING UP SO MUCH OF YOUR FREAKING TIME YOU JERK!!”

“GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU!! YOU GO AROUND ACTING LIKE EVERYONE IS SUPPOSED TO CATER TO YOUR EVERY NEED!! NOT ANYMORE! I DON’T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS CRAP!!” I watched the love of my life freak out in front of my eyes. I saw Riker walk in.

“That’s enough Ellington.” Riker said calmly putting a hand on Ells shoulder. Ellington yanked his arm back.

“NO THIS IS CRAP!! YOU JUST LET HER BOSS YOU AROUND!!” I started to cry.

“I SAID THAT’S ENOUGH ELLINGTON!”
